Quite frankly, even if they’re not for me… I do enjoy the rather interesting lanes they occupy. It’s delightful to smell something that isn’t just mimicking Baccarat Rouge, or generic Dior. Replica is expensive, but well worth it. True to its name, I can recommend.

I recently raided one perfume cabinet while cleaning house. I tried two scents, which I found very odd. One was fireplace by Replica, and one was Vivace by Fragonard, I believe. Yup. Fireplace smells like a fireplace with sweet smoke. I can only describe Vivace as “All licorice, no breaks.”

Perfumery and smell in general is always fascinating. We still don’t know how it all works. Shape or chemicals is a part of it, but doesn’t account for everything. Similar shapes can smell different, different shapes can smell similar… How tolerant molecules are to skin heat. Fascinating.

It’s odd. Simah has the stylings of a fursuit, but also a sort of… ritual garb. He is so entrenched in the idea of altered states of mind, and letting go to let in, that he occupies a kind of middle space. A costume that is put on for conventions, but only with purpose and specific people.

One motif that has come up constantly is labyrinths and mazes in my reading. I think it's quite a good metaphor for life. That is, mazes have multiple ways through them, as opposed to a labyrinth. A bedroom is only a bedroom, because you have given it the meaning of sleep. 1/2

Have you ever had the unfortunate pleasure of wanting to compliment and get to know an artist because you enjoy their art, but a language barrier prevents you among other walls? This artist goes by Vayu here on bluesky but Audiegryph on Furaffinity. Been quietly admiring their goat character.

I finished House of Leaves the other day. It was quite a great book, if you put effort into reading and are patient. Labyrinths have always fascinated me. They roil, and change. Sometimes the real horror is the lack of meaning in the walls, as opposed to being trapped. Food for thought.

I prefer Jasmine tea myself, but really will drink any. I usually like myself things of wood. Oud is one of my favorite notes. Sandalwood… Dusky Rose, Vanilla, Alcoholic notes. I do very much appreciate brands like Maison Margiela though. In another life I would go to Grasse to learn.

I am a beast of the desert and dunes. It is where my heart goes, in many ways. There is a perfume by Maison Margiela called “First Date” in the Replica line that is very similar to what I’m thinking of. It smells wonderful, highly recommend.
