Audience capture has made so many people I follow on social media completely nuts, it's insane. So many times I have to unfollow people after like 10 years. I understand why it's frustrating and scary to you, hope you figure out a way to cope and come back as I love the vids.

I was completely floored two weeks ago when GN dropped the mini documentary, simply the most comprehensive look any journalist did at that point about what the real impact to companies this cursed trade war meant. Really glad you had him on, great episode.

Just followed you via Youtube after watching your last video, and it wasn't easy. The search engines do not like me at all. Would be nice if you added a Bluesky link to your bio on there so it just shows up in the description of all of your videos. Cheers!

You can tell a normal addict to just take it slow for this one very public thing for 3 hours; he's unable, and has been unable ever since. He is high attending rallies, meetings, press events, private meetings, personal streams. He is so lost, why does noone slow him down a bit. Insane.

What's weird about this interaction is that in was planned months ahead, with the guy he wanted to send to space orbiting the Moon before they ever announced it, and he couldn't just not do drugs until the interview was over. He's on Youtube with millions of guaranteed views, not taking it slow.

This looks like a hiring move. People have long complained that their dev tools are shit, their APIs are hard to use. It sort of makes sense to directly compete with VSCode, MS Copilot and Anthropic, at least it's an existing market with already paying customers. 3B is insane though, wth honestly.

He became Catholic just to please Thiel, and he continued to be the laughingstock of that particular monarchist block, while being closest to power. He does not care, either way he becomes president or billionaire in one way or another. Public opinion is irrelevant to him really.

I'm not saying it's Obama's fault for not stopping all this, as he promised, because Im not American. I have my own private opinion I will keep to myself. Surely a global war on terror will always stop at your border and never blow... back. as I was saying, I don't know.

Trump is just here to break the system, he couldn't rebuild it if he wanted to. Too stupid, chaotic, anti intellectual. But many organizations have spent no expense grooming young people who absolutely could. There's my prediction, he is the tutorial boss of the American decline.

Americans are honestly pretty lucky that this fascist revolution is led by absolute morons. But this is most likely a pretty temporary privilege, and opportunity. There are a lot of intelligent young people in the movement who can take over when this gov. fails. Not Vance obviously, but younger.

They have prepared for this exact scenario is the funny part. They knew it was coming and that they are going to be in a better position. My guess is that they are still unsure about why all of this is increasingly stupid by the hour.

There are like 4 issues that Trump is not lying or trying to bullshit about, just tells his honest opinion, and tariffs are one of those. If you listen to what he is saying, you have a 100% chance of knowing what is in his head. It's confusing because he is just so wrong, but that is still the case.

Why is Yarvin all of a sudden all over my timeline. I though we all agreed to ignore him a while ago. Did I miss a meeting or something

I never hated how it looks and it's weird how many people are perpetually stuck on it. It's a glued together shitbox that kills people inside and outside of it. That's the problem, not that it's weird looking or has an unconventional finish. A good car company could make this style work.

I don't really think it's about kids at all, that's incidental, it's about self fulfillment and maintaining one's standing in the social hierarchy. My POV is that so many people will hold the same views even without having children. I can be convinced otherwise tho.

This is like all the domains that are one letter away from the real ones like gogle.com or facrbook.com But so much funnier because the machine isn't even making a human like mistake, it's dreaming an attack vector into existence. Such a cool cyberpunk way to get owned, I love it.

His sister was Secretary of Education under Trump, which I just remembered again. I just also remembered Obama making the big campaign promise of closing Guantamo Bay and never following up. What a fucking insane historical failure to witness. We all see where it ends, where this is going.

There's probably something missing until he can build up domestic concentration camps. My guess is sheer logistics. He will figure it out soon tho, it's not cheap or possible even to deport hundreds of thousands of people.

There's no such thing as political instinct anymore. There's also no political party that tells these people not to do stupid shit like this. It's individual entrepreneurship, how very American. Good luck to her, but also this will keep happening going forward.

I understand every word, yet I'm lost. Ten years. It has passed. God have mercy on our souls. Why are podcasts still legal and how long until our society moves past the concept, I ponder.

People are still watching Star Wars and Marvel movies so I'm mentally prepared.. and pretend to be surprised. Oh, people! Without taste. How curious. I'm just being informed that Mr Beast is the biggest online content creator. People still have a Facebook account. They like it. How unexpected.

It's the same thing as the dumbass people who want to live forever, just a different flavour. At some point imagining a better future is impossible without commiting to systematic change, so it's stupidity like this that gets popular.

It's consumerism but in an unusually politically incoherent form. It's a personal choice you can make, that you develop as a hobby/interest/identity. It's going to be really popular going forward given how successful this kind of messaging has been for really stupid, politically disengaged people.

I really think american catholics are addicted to the stupid juice in a way that's unique. This reads to me like some sort of fetish thing, yet again. We can see clear worlwide trends, for decades, and yet they refuse to engage with any ongoing discussion, instead we get.. whatever this is 😬

This number has changed like a dozen times with Mexico and Canada in the last couple of months. It will keep changing with ships involved too. This is going to be chaos, backlogs, mistakes, people calling the WH directly. It's max corruption soil going forward.

The EU is going to play along with whatever is happening because almost all of the states are also NATO members. They are not going to be the ones starting to argue about whatever the fuck for now. That's maybe for later when Trump changes all policy to the exact opposite again.

celLyam @cellyam.bsky.social · 08/04/2025
Not really. People like him are getting power all around the world right now. This type of politics is more popular with every election, people know what they are voting for, or really what they are voting agains.

The tech bros need a friend who will not call them stupid. I'm only half joking, billions are invested so that people can pretend to talk to someone.

celLyam @cellyam.bsky.social · 08/04/2025
might be a silly idea but with Canada so pissed and the EU still struggling with construction and furniture prices I wonder if we see the US start to build more homes from concrete and brick. we live in historical times, and it occurred to me that it can happen.

yes but also a lot of them are in the constant cycle of failing upwards, dumping their shitty equity on the public, navigating ponzi schemes, etc. personal financial failure is very much an option for the well connected, they know they can always recover eventually.

the us president has the kind of job security that allows him to do insanely unpopular things. i don't think he ever considered that the average prime minister can be replaced by his own party in like two weeks of protests, thus unlikely to bow down to a bully.
000
celLyam @cellyam.bsky.social · 08/04/2025
he really does think that people will be so afraid that they will bow down and kiss the ring, which he might be right about for the domestic companies. but the international leaders in gov and business, it's so much more likely that fear will just motivate them to gang up and fight back.

It is truly insane that so many people even entertain this possibility. This would really require doing a decade of aggressive industrial policy, huge subsidies, enormous government spending before a tariff even makes sense to entertain. Great writeup, glad that you guys are doing this work.

It's going to be war in the middle east again, it always is. I mean a proper one again. There's no originality, no new ideas. US domestic policy failure always ends in another fucking stupid war for no reason.

Gene mod startup gives us cool mice, cool doggos. Unfortunately it's like Elizabeth Holmes level of fake again. We're in peak fake company territory and it's so bad.
Wholly mice. Like a cool mouse with super nice long fur similar to a medium hair cat.Two puppies, that are said to be wolves.

All of what a computer is or what the internet is is super fucking confusing to most people. The baseline understanding is not materially relevant at all. Most people don't have a good reading even after decades. AI is really even worse and will continue to be.
000
celLyam @cellyam.bsky.social · 06/04/2025
This will happen to us in real life a lot. We just have to be tolerant of this I guess. Tech bubbles make people adopt fucking insane ways of behaving. A lot of this is fashion and most people will just adjust, no need to get confrontational now.

I love that it is. It's a dark day and learning how stupid they are gives me hope. AI brained children are dismantling the american hegemony and International world order. This is farcical, this is beatable. If only there was an opposition party. ooops

That's not impossible but sounds cope to me. That requires some actual physical space you can gather millions of people at once. DC did not see numbers like that in our lifetimes. Revolution lol the best they do is Tesla showrooms. Which works, but it's a picket line not revolution. Do marches too.

This could cascade pretty quickly if the news hit the market. There's just so much future capacity increase that has been announced from so many countries already. I wonder if some will go through regardless, but they will quietly pivot the facilities to actual useful ends ie. normal cloud compute.

I'm thinking about the next billionaire oligarch who is less exposed like this and the next fascist politician who is less stupid. This will go on, regardless of the current struggle agains these 2 who just happen to be in power. That's why I'm inquiring.

Not decoupled but incidental. The protests are nice because americans care about cars more than most other things and a car-based protest makes the news more that other kinds. But other billionaires do not have this kind of weakness necessarily.
100
celLyam @cellyam.bsky.social · 25/03/2025
Why tho. The protests are awesome but what hurts him is the stock price, which is downstream of earnings, and sales numbers. Bezos in the same position would equally be fucked by an online only boycott and movement.
