One of the items in P2025. Getting the Department of Labor to amend hazard order regulations against child labor.

Hazard-Order Regulations. Some young adults show an interest in inherently dangerous jobs. Current rules forbid many young people, even if their family is running the business, from working in such jobs. This results in worker shortages in dangerous fields and often discourages otherwise interested young workers from trying the more dangerous job. With parental consent and proper training, certain young adults should be allowed to learn and work in more dangerous occupations. This would give a green light to training programs and build skills in teenagers who may want to work in these fields.

• DOL should amend its hazard-order regulations to permit teenage workers access to work in regulated jobs with proper training and parental consent.

I’m losing it! Sending top secret information via TEXT is sending me over. TEXT MESSAGES?! No encryption at the very least? I accidentally plugged my phone into my computer and got a ding and had to redo my security training or lose my access. But this guy is texting war plans 🫠

The world found out shortly before 2 p.m. eastern time on March 15 that the United States was bombing Houthi targets across
Yemen.

I, however, knew two hours before the first bombs exploded that the attack might be coming. The reason I knew this is that Pete Hegseth, the secretary of defense, had texted me the war plan at 11:44 a.m. The plan included precise information about weapons packages, targets, and timing.

*Highest risk of severe storms with "round one" will be over the western half of the state, mainly along and west of I-65.
The severe threat is much lower over the eastern counties, where the air will be more stable.
*Where storms develop, they will be capable of producing hail and damaging winds. A few tornadoes are possible as well, mainly over West Alabama.

From my book IN A HIGH PLACE: Black Motherhood and a Woman Rising, based on the Kwanzaa principle Ujima, I wrote about this lack of collective responsibility within white communities. It’s all I thought about watching that video. 😵‍💫 Black people uphold this even if we don’t celebrate Kwanzaa.

COLLECTIVE RESPONSIBILITY (A REFLECTION)
Recently, I thought about how some white people have mentioned police brutality against white people and that they aren’t up in arms about it. Someone responded and said, but you should be. It stuck with me and made me reflect on the Kwanzaa principle of Ujima: Collective Work and Responsibility. The principle of Ujima centers around building and maintaining our community
together. Making our brothers’ and sisters’ problems our problems while solving them together. Whether Black people celebrate Kwanzaa in its entirety or not, I recognize that we, as a people, have always honored this. We’ve always understood that what happens to one can happen to any of us, and we must stand and fight because it is our responsibility. Think about the Civil Rights Movement. The Montgomery Bus Boycott didn’t start just because one person deserved equality. The community came together because they recognized that the rights of a Black woman and all Black people mattered. “We all we got” has been more than a cute slogan but an actual call to action for the mantle we carry as brothers and sisters in this society and this world. The feeling of collective responsibility is what keeps us calling, marching, writing, creating, donating, organizing, and supporting. It’s hard for other groups to understand our outrage because they see the world through a single lens for themselves and not as a collective. This gem of the collective, serving as an anchor within us, encourages how we navigate our day-to-day with that principle in mind. Why do I care about what happens to a Black man in Minnesota, or a Black woman in Louisville, or a Black boy at a playground in Ohio, or a Black woman getting pulled over in Texas? It’s because they are a part of the collective, and it’s my responsibility to care. We all should care. Many white people understand the fight against injustice and the importance of equal rights for cultures in other countries. They will pray fo…

I am truly thankful that God created me as a Black woman with a heart to encourage. I appreciate the heart of the collective not turning a blind eye on the
people we’ve never met; Total strangers but who have felt like family because we see them as such. A lot of what we understand about where we are is based on individualistic ideologies. But in a time, such as this, leaning into the waves of our
neighbor becomes so vital to getting to a place of unity beyond walls, positions, and state lines.
What if we truly kept one another and navigated this world, the system, and the injustices as such?
What if we weren’t blinded by the nonsense?
What if we tapped into the heart and spirit? Using that passion as our canoe down the rivers of truth, over the waterfalls of identity, and into the bodies of life. What if we deeply cared about the concerns of others? The ones you know and the ones you’ve never met. Those in parts of America you’ve never seen. Mourning with those who mourn because you understand loss and grief. What would that look like, and how would it give us the freedom we’ve been seeking for decades?

I read through the entire document the day after the election. Here are some points I’ve shared with family and friends.

Plan to ensure appointees agree with administration stance on science (NOAA)

Plan to change rules to allow young people to work in dangerous/hazardous work environments to save worker shortages in those fields

Plan to reassign election related offenses from civil rights division to criminal division. Plan to make a federal law against providers and distributors of plan B type of pills

I also want to share so those who care are tracking, that Bird Flu is the nickname given for the avian flu labeled as H5N1. So a lot of medical journals use the term H5N1 to report on cases in the United States instead of the term Bird Flu.

I’m proud of me. My 13 year old gave my dinner a 9/10. He said my Mac and cheese is almost like my mothers (it’s John Legends recipe but I’ll take the compliment 😌) My 10 year old gave me individual rankings for each item he ate 😅🤭 but overall he gave me a 9/10 🥳
