My partner had dental surgery on Thursday and still can’t chew, so I’ve been trying to make soft foods as decadent as possible. It’s a filet of flounder seared in olive oil with a clarified sage/thyme butter and served with lemon juice & parsley. Served on a bed of creamy celery root puree! 10/10

I tried 3 new recipes for Christmas! - coffee-pandan swirl fudge -red wine poached pears (w tarragon whisps) - pistachio lady fingers (very round flat fingers) They’re so yummy. I think I’m always going to keep poached pears in my fridge from now on.

There’s a house near where I grew up that goes all out for Christmas. They’re kinda locally famous for being awesome and making such a spectacle for the neighbors, they used to serve spiked hot cocoa in the front yard. All of the windows in the driveway have their own display!
