Our trip to Joe’s Crab Shack for dinner was an adventure. I discovered I prefer oysters raw. We wondered why a yacht had chaff dispensers and air, and ground radar. If we hadn’t stopped to admire this fluffy seabird, @idealistcynic.bsky.social would have left his wallet behind.

If you swipe down from the right top corner of the home screen, it will bring up “Control Center”. Hold down a finger on it without touching an app and you will get this screen which allows you to remove anything you don’t want. You can remove “Focus” so it does accidentally get activated from here.

Circled for the Full Moon tonight with a new friend. Since my coven went mostly online, we don't do Full Moons together. Weird but it is what it is, and I haven't been local to them in years. It had been my goal to find people to circle with locally at the beach. Great start to the year! #WitchSky

Get me now, finally picking up a deck I have had my eye on since the 90’s, not noticing I had acquired a “borderless” re-release until I opened the box….. Here is a photo of the original with the artist’s lovely border and the ridiculously long, awkwardly shaped cards I ended up with. 🙄

REMEMBER WHEN I mentioned St. Christopher having the head of a dog in the Vinica icons? Did that seem weird to you? Well, stranger still, that is not the only depiction of
Christopher with the head of a dog.
In his eleventh-century biography of the saint, known as a hagi-ography, Walter von Speyer depicts St. Christopher as a giant, dog-headed man from Canaan who even had a vicious bark. As in similar hagiographies, St. Christopher meets the Christ Child and is converted and baptized, but von Speyer also adds that after his con-version, St. Christopher regains his human appearance and is eventually martyred for his new faith. The Byzantine and Russian Churches likewise depict St. Christopher as a human with a dog head in several icons, in which the haloed saint is usually holding the cross of martyrdom.
So was St. Christopher a giant or a forgotten werewolf saint of the early Christian Church? Not at all, but the origin of these stories is as mysterious as it is fascinating. We still don't know why St. Christopher was depicted as a monster, but there are some theories. The most popular is that there was a misreading between the Latin words chananaeus ("Canaanite") and caninus ("canine"). However, ancient historians did talk about "cynocephaly, or dog-headedness. “

My First Degree Initiation Cord which I earned in 2013, was stolen from my car during a long distance move. Recently, my Coven initiated 8 new members. When they got their cords, I was given another as well (red, center). It means a lot to me to have my cord again. 🖤

Made a little progress in here today! The desk is pushed up against the wall temporarily so a friend can use the bed while she visits. After that, it will all be moved back into place. There are things going up on the wall, and other refinements. At least for now, I have a work space again. 🌚
