this is the first time i'm needing to automate a build process myself and i was like "waaaaa i miss nick's beautiful and simple system 😭" but yeah butler and itch is such a power combo and it feels so good to use

YESSSS also being able to work with my own tools again and iterate on concepts/solutions we developed for YS is so satisfying, it's making everything go so so fast

also it's so nice to be working on small projects for myself "full-time" now even if i've been sick. the iteration time alone is so refreshing, on young suns the time it would take to go from making a code change to seeing it in-game was like 4.5 minutes in editor 😭 (i have no ram)

makes me almost wish this game was networked. when i was working on fighting game engine having butler and using the itch app made debugging and redeploying amidst playtests so fast even if i was doing it all by hand and there's no feeling like it. so glad i've set it up so early for this game 😌

yesterday i build a little tool for my game to build click a button and have it immediately made a windows and mac build for my game and use butler to upload to itch and it feels GREAT! i can quickly make builds for people since it takes like ~90s after pressing the button to itch finishing patching
