Ah, and partly boredom along the way. It's, again, something between being thrilled of how one do more ambitious things, and fed up by the tool doing the job. Yan wrote about "how AI removed the joy of coding" and I totally get that feeling. Fortunately, I still enjoy design and coding.

For me it's a mixture of enthusiasm and rage. While it's great for simple work and figuring out a good way to code something, it does a lot of unwanted things and asking for tweaks often takes longer than doing it myself.

An exciting extension to the #ggplot2 universe 🍾 I love how Alex has tied the new features to best #dataviz practices, and he even added a coaching option. I’m especially excited about the easy way to place the y-axis title at the top, plus even more shapes that are usable right out of the box 🤘

I'm puzzled by this paper's lead chart. Connecting socioeconomic status levels emphasizes that difference, which is not the point of the paper. I reordered the data to connect across time points which helps see the gap widening over time and a different trend shape for the P and HP schools. #dataviz

This line chart shows the trade balance of cheese between Germany and Austria. The chart attempts to mimic the style of 18th-century charts. Until 2018, Germany exported more cheese (measured in tonnes) to Austria than it imported. Since then the balance has switched. In 2025, Germany imported more than it exported.
