Republicans view Jeffries as a Pelosi surrogate and you know what they think about Pelosi. Politics right now is polarized and the only way a Republican voter will vote for a Democrat is because of their wallet. If Jeffries is speaker Republicans will be reluctant, if at all, to work with him.

The only thing close to binary is R vs D on all issues but then again there is an I every now and then. Politics has been polarized for a long time. Elections are won today by turnout. That's it. The elites know this and target their ads to influence turnout. Voters vote by wallet not by policy.
