7 points at half vs one of the worst defenses in the SEC. Either he admits he can’t call plays anymore and hires an OC, or he gets told his tenure is on the clock.

Isn’t it crazy how he plays scared when he needs to be confident, and he becomes brazen when he should be more conservative?

Pretty much all the polls (many of which aren’t great quality, admittedly) suggest the same thing: Closer than you’d expect, but Flanagan ahead.

She also cites an execution in Virginia in 2017…before pointing out that the Dems there abolished the death penalty a few years later.

Da Coach was not only an icon in Chicago, but the entire football world. Our thoughts are with Mike Ditka’s family, friends, and Bears fans today. May his memory be a blessing.

That argument is just as valid as the argument that she would’ve overtaken him absent shell PAC influence. You’re like 8 posts in and you’ve seemingly abandoned the antisemitism accusation, so can I assume you admit it was tenuous?

If you want to believe she wouldn’t have won regardless, okay, you can hold that belief. But we have actual reporting suggesting AIPAC coordinated their resources to try and make sure she didn’t win. You haven’t even come close to justifying the allegation of antisemitism w/r/t this topic!

ce2024.bsky.social @ce2024.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
You’re talking about placement order when there’s only one winner lol. AIPAC saw the writing on the wall with Fine, realized that the two leading candidates were bad news for them, and made the active decision to lay off one and attack the other. In a race decided by under 4%!

ce2024.bsky.social @ce2024.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
What event did not happen? Politico even reported that AIPAC intentionally slowed/retracted anti-Biss ads down the stretch because they didn’t like the momentum Abughazaleh had! Clearly they felt like they had pull.
100
ce2024.bsky.social @ce2024.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
Lizard people don’t exist, AIPAC and their shell PACs do and they directly involved themselves in the race.
100
ce2024.bsky.social @ce2024.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
Because not every ad/attack is created equal, and for all we know Abughazelah was on her way to taking the lead until the ads directed against her (aimed towards younger voters) made an impact. That’s kinda the rub with dark money in politics, it makes us all speculate because of how nefarious it is

ce2024.bsky.social @ce2024.bsky.social · 08/10/2026
Okay so we both agree 1. AIPAC dumped money into the race 2. One of their shell PACs directly attacked Abughazaleh 3. AIPAC took credit for her losing Don’t think antisemitism is required to see why she might blame them for a loss! Seems like a credible argument!

Judaism has taught us to mourn, to remember, and to repair. Three years after October 7th, we honor those who were lost, and we are reminded that we must all work toward building a future where Israelis and Palestinians live side by side in peace, security, and safety.

Black text on white background
"This day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers. It marks three years since the horrific war crimes of October 7. On that day, Hamas killed more than 1,100 Israelis and abducted 251 others. We grieve alongside our many friends and neighbors who still carry that unthinkable loss.

The suffering did not begin nor end that day. It instead continued through the Israeli government’s devastating, ongoing genocide in Gaza, in which it has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians—including more than 21,000 children. Even since the so-called ceasefire, more than 1,400 Palestinians have been killed. That suffering has intensified with every Israeli bomb dropped on ambulances waiting outside hospitals, every drone strike targeting a residential building or journalist, and every shipment of food aid turned away at a border crossing. Many New Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief, and we mourn alongside them – all while knowing that our tax dollars fund these war crimes.

Three years later, we must refuse to accept a world in which occupation and apartheid continue, where war crimes are met with impunity, and our federal government continues its complicity with every arms shipment.

To honor the dead, we must fight for a world in which every person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity."

It is antisemitism to suggest an organization dumping millions into a race may have had an effect on the outcomes. Great stuff.

Will a single mainstream media outlet who covers the Maine debate mention how shaky and frail Susan Collins’ voice sounds? We’ve already established that truth has no bearing on perception of debate performance, so kinda wondering if anyone will dare mention how bad she sounds.

For Illinois (the state I live in) people incarcerated in county/city jails get cycled through them pretty quickly. State and federal prisoners outnumber them greatly. So not really accurate to portray Illinois as being a shining example of incarcerated voting rights.

If you’re convicted of a violent crime I would prefer that you not have a say in the direction of our society while you are being punished for that crime. After you serve your time, your right should be automatically restored.

Chiming in here to note that, yes, Collins will probably overperform…but it’s getting a lot harder for her (and candidates like her) to overperform. She may turn out to be a unicorn, but eventually all unicorns (Tester, Manchin) get wrangled at some point.

Serious question. Do we think Ben Wikler would’ve done better? My instinct is to say yes, but having to be the guy after a brutal election loss was probably going to be unattractive to most candidates.

One time I reffed a basketball game where one team was down to 5 players due to injury (league rule was 5 players min.). Star player of the team hit the go-ahead 3 with 10 seconds left, turned to our lead official, yelled “That’s for you, b*tch.” Automatic ejection and team forfeit. So maybe that.
