QSPICE® is SPICE-based, freely available circuit simulation software that includes tools for making JFET, MOSFET and diode models. This presentation describes and documents the interprocess communication of the different QSPICE processes so they can replace QSPICE schematics with KiCAD schematics to add simulation, marching waveforms, and cross probing to KiCAD. This will enable KiCAD users to integrate QSPICE elements that complement KiCAD capabilities to enhance their circuit simulation, model creation and layout experiences.

Anybody adopted the IPC-7352 land pattern naming convention for PCB footprints? I usually like to stay consistent with IPC recommendations, but I'm really not in love with some of the naming conventions in the spec... Trying to decide on whether to just use it as-is or go with something else.

PEP 751 has been accepted! peps.python.org/pep-0751/ This means #Python now has a lock file standard that can act as an export target for tools that can create some sort of lock file. Oh interesting, curious to hear more about those cases. I’m really interested in seeing an open-source solution for this too! E.g. I just upgraded the paid VirtualHere server I’m running on a BeagleBone Black and the license broke…the developer was quick to send a new one, but it was down for a bit

Bluesky lazyweb question: If I change my handle here to a domain, what happens to existing links to my old posts? If I copy a link to one of my existing posts, it includes "cdwilson.bsky.social" in the URL slug. What happens to old links if somebody else picks up that username after I abandon it?

I just had Kalbijjim for the first time and well... white people, we've been doing pot roast wrong.

For over 400 years, from the 14th to the 18th century, Kalbijjim (Braised Beef Short Ribs) was a dish reserved exclusively for the kings and royal families of the Joseon Dynasty. Today, Kalbijjim is enjoyed by everyone, but it remains a special dish in many Korean families, often served on significant occasions such as birthdays, holidays, and weddings.
