But what they virtually never have is a high EQ, a trait that is considered more important in leadership. Anyone combining 'elite' with 'most capable' is waving the "my EQ score is low" flag. 010
Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 25/08/2026That would have been both good and bad for me. I actually would have had far better grades. But far lesser friends. 010
Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 21/08/2026This graphic is older, but I recently checked the numbers — they haven't greatly changed. Think about it. We're ALL centrists and ALL progressive at once, including R's on half the issues. It's just the GOP has forced the branding on us. Which is to say try to be inclusive, because we'll need it. 120
Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 18/08/2026Maybe they should ask Americans about all the centrists — 58% to 94% on all topics, and over half of R's on eight — that want these progressive or DSA policies, per polling. (The polling in the graphic is older, but most of today's polling is within two to three points.) 000
Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 18/08/2026Are you kidding??? The BBC is asking for phone and text records of Trump's children, because they believe there could be incriminating information. And since most of us assume there would be, there's about 110% chance that Trump will drop the case, before allowing the BBC to gain access. 000

Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 12/08/2026I knew there was more to the story. This guy is such a man's man that there was no way he was going to cower in a roach coach. Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 28/06/2026I used to coach soccer. The rule is whether someone's offsides materially affected the play, and I'd say engaging with a defender as a semi pick, then putting one's self offsides as a result, was material. I can see the side judge having his view blocked, but not VAR missing it. 010
Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 27/06/2026Let's use our words. Pass went to center in front of the net, then deflected off the defender to the left. The goal scorer had been in contact with same defender about 1/2 to 3/4 of a second before the pass. It's ref's opinion, but nothing wrong with what I said. www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5Jd...youtube.comTürkiye's Kaan Ayhan scores stoppage-time goal to defeat United States | 2026 FIFA World Cup™YouTube video by FOX Sports 110
Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 26/06/2026Actually, the pass was to the middle and grazed off the US player's head, then went to the left — fortunate for Turkey. And I'm aware it's a judgement call on whether an offside player is relevant, but he had just ran into the box and made contact with the defender. That seems part of the play. 110
Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 26/06/2026I was having difficultly last night getting a clean look, but here's one a millisecond after the pass. He was definitely offsides. My question is I thought they go to video on goals, so I don't understand why this was allowed. 000
Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 26/06/2026Regardless of the defense, I don't understand why this wasn't called for offsides. He was clearly behind all players when the pass was made, although it does appear it was going to the player about four feet to his right. 200

Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 25/06/2026Sorry, I forgot to add this. I made the graphic years ago from an article that linked to all the polls. I didn't carry over the citations, because it takes six second of Googling to confirm. Percentages may have changed, but the gist remains: the majority of Americans are progressively centrist. 210
Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 25/06/2026They showed that more than 50% of voters on both sides favored her policies. But as you said earlier, people need to go out and vote. And that was the rub. 410
Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 25/06/2026Which means candidates are losing on the totality of their policies, not just one issue. However, it's worse than that. The graphs above of voters' opinions on 2024 policy proposals, where the candidates names had been removed? 110
Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 25/06/2026So for someone to run as a single issue candidate when 90% don't vote that way would be baffling strategy — if not impossible to pull off. I tried to find examples of candidates who truly limited themselves to one topic; they're virtually non-existent. 200
Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 25/06/2026Different polls have found people prioritize a particular issue. Gallup found 32% consider a candidate's stance on abortion to be a dealbreaker, but other factors still are considered when choosing a candidate or voting on propositions. 100
Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 25/06/2026Actually, it would be probably more accurate to say a candidate just lost to broccoli lovers on the other side. But since Americans don't vote that way, that's not correct either. A Yale study (10%) and a Gallup survey (15%) found a small percentage of Americans are strict single issue voters. 100
Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 24/06/2026Are you saying that if we get people to actually vote for what they claim they want, that would be like forcing them to eat broccoli??? I'm curious how you'd describe when people vote against their own self-interests..... 110
Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 24/06/2026It's far more relevant to take the fourteen issues as a whole, along with the polling showing the majority of Americans liked Kamala's policy positions (when they didn't know whose policy it was). So how do we get people to vote for the issues they claim they want? Quick answer? Turn off Fox News. 120
Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 24/06/2026And rather than being cryptic, I will say that I believe far more Republican voters vote against their stated preference — i.e., what they've answered to pollsters — than Democratic voters do. 130
Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 24/06/2026At least three potential reasons: 1) Not enough people vote. 2) Not enough people truly care about these issues. 3) Decades of branding turning highly popular positions into "far left whacko" positions....while they remain highly popular. 120

Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 24/06/2026These issues are often considered "progressive," but over half of America favors them, and even half of Republicans favor at least eight of them. Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 21/06/2026You know how Trump wants his name plastered everywhere? This seems like the best use of our tax dollars, because it will help us commemorate his memory. Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 18/06/2026Tell me if I'm following your logic correctly, JD? Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 10/06/2026By statistics and by definition, Progressive = Centrist and Centrist = Progressive. Anything else is Fox News disinformation. 010

Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 06/06/2026And that's what makes mail-in voting so wonderful. Jason Harris @cdjay62.bsky.social · 31/05/2026I’ve always assumed they would try to siphon money from what they’ve collected.
