"Cmon, Marble, move it! We're gonna miss our boat!" "[Ow! Watch where your hand is! Why do I have to carry you anyway?!]" I'm off to Fanfest! I'm so lucky to be heading to Berlin with some close friends to see more of what Evercold has in store for the future of FFXIV!

I had some pretty crazy pulls for my inspiration. Lots of them have come in gradually as I've figured out her character over the past few years.

A template of character inspirations for the character 'Marble Frost'.
The Gerudo from The Legend of Zelda
Grog Strongjaw from Critical Role
Zarya from Overwatch
Yang Xiao Long from RWBY
Cloth from Hollow Knight
The Doom Slayer from Doom
The Switch Axe from the Monster Hunter Series
Jorge-052 from Halo: Reach

"[Well, if the fortune says so...]" Had a strange fortune in this year's event, so I decided to follow it and hope my luck changes for the better. New outfits it is!

A screenshot from Final Fantasy XIV, specifically of a menu that shows up during the new years 'Heavensturn' event. A female Hellsguard Roegadyn holds out her hand with a concerned look on her face. A fortune slip is on the screen. The text reads -

Misfortune
Thou shalt experience misfortune. Heed these words of guidance, and thy luck may change.
Adventure: Neglect not to make plans.
Relationships: Be not led astray by the clamor and tumult of the world. Remain steadfast in thy beliefs.
Prosperity: Good fortune awaiteth. Outfit thy retainers anew.
Conflict: Apprehension shall beget failure. Take to battle with naught save complete resolve.
Favor: To rise above hardship as tumultuous as the Navigator's raging waves, thou must bide thy time.

I wasn't too shaken during the death in Heavensward (it didnt make me cry), which is bizarre considering the first moment that broke me was when you could echo his words to Ryne. I got to that text box and just broke down crying. I was in tears from then until the end of the final quest.

A young girl stands between two adults, a Garlean man with short hair in an imperial uniform, and a Roegadyn woman with a gem on her forehead, also wearing an imperial uniform. The girl stands between them, smiling to the Roegadyn woman. The two adults smile back at the young girl.

The text reads "Sunglasses are great, because no one can tell where you're looking."
The second frame has the Miqo'te staring at the Roegadyn's chest, very close to her. The Roegadyn is looking down at her, annoyed.

A Seeker of the Sun Miqo'te in a winter coat, standing on a snowy hill. A large axe is above her head, barely missing her. The text 'Miss' is visible next to her head.

A screenshot from the end of The Simpsons episode 'And Maggie Makes Three', showing a plaque that reads 'Don't forget, you're here forever' covered with images that change the text to 'Do it for her'. The original images are replaced with images of a Hellsguard Roegadyn woman in various outfits.

Marble was born in Garlemald. She was moved to Ala Mhigo 2 years into her time serving in the military to be a field test for Aulus on the long-term effects of giving someone additional aether. This resulted in some changes in her appearance, as her body is practically overflowing with aether now.

Marble Frost, a Hellsguard Roegadyn, carrying an axe. She wears a long black and red coat, gloves and boots, and is standing in a snowy environment. Her hair is black and her eyes are dark blue. This shows her before the experiments that changed her appearance.

I am not a good editor at all but i have a compulsion to make a video on my journey trying to complete every Powerwash Simulator mission without using any of the scaffolding items (Stepstool, ladder and actual scaffolding). I promise its more interesting than it sounds. Would people even watch that?

Before making Marble, I had tried making a couple of my other characters in the character creator, but i realised trying to fit them into XIV's aesthetic wasn't gonna work. Admittedly, Marble's initial character data is saved as 'Dommy Mommy', but 3 years on I don't regret picking femroe at all.
