Where is peer review headed, in the era of AI? Can it can help rather than replace expert judgment? As I put together my syllabi, I realize I'm asking the same questions: how can I teach students to balance efficiency with integrity? How much can we trust we tools? When does our reliance go too far?

Is it cheating for referees to use AI during peer review? Peer Review is already stretched thin, so maybe gen-AI can improve peer-review quality. But does it violate confidentiality to feed someone else's paper into a model without their consent? Or maybe it's just fraud. Is AI my "peer"?
