me trying to hide my newfound hobby from my partner: if I build a dry box do you think he'll notice

I made those this past weekend at a two-day paper making class and they were ready to be picked up today :3 I made some plain white sheets as well; some are huge and then also some little small ones, but the colorful 8x11s are my faves. already bought stuff to continue making paper at home lol

i’ve been weaving lil coasters & decided to use chevron pattern for them which i really likeeee 🥰 i tried putting two on the same loom but that ended up making them slightly squashed looking LOL. still big enough for mugs/cups tho so that’s what matters 🧶

two woven coasters, one hot pink and one a dark but vibrant purple. each has short white tassels on either end.

in better news tho, i’ve done some more weaving which has actually turned out all right!

ok well the sailor slippers didn’t quite turn out how i wanted 😣😭 i think my yarn was TOO bulky & tension was…bad lol. i love the colors sm but the way they fit is weird and just ugh ;; still posting a lil before & after tho bc hey i mean i did it lol

post-felting slippers that are much smaller but still too big for the creator’s feet - except at the ankle opening which is too freaking small

man seeing everyone’s awesome wips on here really makes me want to re-learn how to knit 😭 but i told myself the next hobby i’m going to conquer is sewing. i NEED to learn how to work a gd sewing machine so i can alter/make my own clothes 😤 so intimidating tho lol :c

i actually crocheted that exact blanket once already lol — here it is finished 🩵 i just wanted to have one to keep at work & one to keep at home 🤪

blankey draped over chair :3 the yarn is dyed in a gradient so that the colors change from dark teal to almost-white to dark teal again. the crochet pattern gives the blanket a texture of alternating lines, bumps, and gaps

🧶 so for WIP wednesday here’s a pic of BOTH my WIPs and they BOTH happen to be blue :D on the left is the beginnings of a shawl (i just started today), and the piece on the right is to be a chunky lap blanket 🥰

on the left: the humble (dinky) beginnings of a crocheted shawl, using variegated yarn in shades of blue and blueish-purple. the cotton/acrylic blend is slightly shiny in the lighting.

on the right: the first ~1/4 of a lap blanket, also crochet. the yarn has a gradient which starts out dark blue, then gradually becomes near-white. the yarn is fuzzy and chunky with no shine in the lighting.

my headset kept snagging & getting caught in my hair. so i crocheted a solution :3 i’m not saying it’s the most beautiful thing lol, but by golly it works! 🧶

a hands-free headset with an earpiece & mic on one side, and on the other side is a rubber piece that rests against the wearer’s head. on the rubber piece there is a purple crocheted “sleeve” that prevents the rubber from getting caught on or stuck in the wearer’s hair.

ngl at first i kind of hated how the colors/pattern turned out in that blanket lol :( i think it’s growing on me now but i’m not sure if that’s bc it’s actually fine or if i’m subconsciously trying to protect my feelings from the truth lmao 🥲 OH WELL

my most recently finished crochet project and very first blanket :’) i thought i’d never finish this thing haha, but here we are!! 🧶

blanket crocheted with variegated purple blanket yarn - multiple shades of purple are randomly dispersed throughout. approximately 5’5” in length. this girl is THIQUE and HEAVY despite her small size, and maybe the warmest, cuddliest blanket on earth.

okay so this is turning into caro’s crochet blunders lol but look at this difference 💀 here’s the 2nd stuffed animal i ever crocheted: felipe the raccoon - my fucked up son (affectionate) vs. the 3rd: mojito the cow 🥹 our lil baby. & her purse is a pocket u can actually put stuff in!!!

a raccoon-adjacent crocheted stuffed animal named felipe (very large head)

side view of raccoon-adjacent crocheted stuffed animal named felipe. this angle really shows off how fucked-up shaped he is :)

crocheted stuffed animal that is a very cute and well-proportioned cow 🥰 her name is mojito bc she is white and green

i also got really into crocheting potholders/hot pads. my fave thing about this pic is you can CLEARLY tell which potholder i accidentally changed hook sizes on hahaha. oh and BLUEBERRY PIE HOT PAD 🥹🥹 i love her

several items crocheted by caro, including a doily, a hideously variegated table runner, three slightly misshapen potholders, and one hot pad that looks/is shaped like a blueberry pie
