47. Failed to adequately prepare for catastrophic pandemics. Despite COVID-19’s lessons - and current pneumonic plague threat- Congress has not created an adequately robust permanent framework for pandemic surveillance, vaccine manufacturing, supply chains and emergency response.

It’s fitting that Jack was at an Iowa Hawkeyes game. Hope people remind Grassley and Iowan voters about that egg-on-the face.

Jack might have hinted to his speculation during the hearing: Jack specifically mentioned that the Marshals were with him, who could corroborate his testimony. I wondered if Jack thought a marshal might have had said something about a “hawk—-“ game Jack attended and someone jumped to a conclusion

The cherry on top to Schmitt’s fubar was that Schmitt apparently had the audacity to confuse the Chairman’s home-state team for the Atlanta‘s NBA team.

Unnecessary things I learned today: 1) Jack Smith does not believe in the tooth fairy. And 2) Senator Schmitt. Didn’t know he existed until today, and really didn’t need to know that.

Then he would be in a position to have Iran make a statement an agreement has been reached pending finalization Nov. The reality is that Trump can’t be trusted, lies pathologically and is strictly zero sum. He has no idea how to get out of this, and frankly, he doesn’t care.

There’s nothing strategic about Trump, which goes without saying given the current U.S. position in this conflict and his pathology. At this point, proximity decides exposure and likelihood of worse outcomes. No real diplomatic solution with this corrupt clownshow. How bad does it go is what’s left.

Wow. There are certain things that are driving any U.S. escalation and it is not U.S. interests. This is the Trump/Kushner family with the control of the U.S. military. Like many pointing out, our unsustainable position is about to become much worse and much sooner. Watch PBS Frontline on MBS/Trump.

The reality is that Trump/nuts use all media to command distraction/narrative, including journalist. “Trump says…” is not useful. “The admin. claims…” is conditionally reportable, but needs a factual backstop (“…without any evidence.”) Otherwise, report facts and measures indep. of stated claims.

Yep. I think he can’t. I think the depletion of munitions and the asymmetric military position very likely makes the U.S. show-of-force very ineffective and vulnerable. But Trump isn’t going to admit it. The worst is yet to come I think.

Imposing something that someone believes “ought to be” is antithetical to our Constitution without the consensus of the People. And people have widely varying values and beliefs. Thousands of years has taught us something about society and human behavior. Knowledge is not a value to this admin 3/3.

This is a threat. In this country/constitution, we have foundational freedoms. There are laws that so far have largely mimicked rules to moral and ethical standards with some justifiable basis. (2/3)

An elective philosophy course had a profound effect on me, and still fuels my conclusions to fundamental questions. Epistemology (The Theory of Knowledge). For me, so much of what goes on, especially right now, gets viewed through this lens. Here, we have someone’s value; a belief, not knowledge (1/
