Just got an email that the NIH Early Independence award is "not going forward." This was an award that catapulted promising PhD students into faculty positions and is part of the High-Risk High-Reward grant program in the NIH Office of the Director. Deadline was 9.6.25!

We had our first community outreach event today--a mashup of a town hall and an "Ask me/us anything." We talked abt our work, ppl gave us feedback, and asked us questions about relats and sex. So many people came - we had to have an overflow room. Now I need to sleep for 3 years.

Why is presenter view such a hassle on zoom? It makes it so hard to read notes while presenting. Then this morning, I wondered why zoom hadn't created a teleprompter function? Seems like that could be low hanging fruit to help us easily access notes or scripts for talks.

At recent conf (#LGBTQHealthConf) I got asked many times how the puppy is. So a brief update: Birdie is still ridiculously cute but also newly stubborn. Below she is refusing to move bc a family won’t pay attention to her. Cats are adjusting but require food in the sunroom.

How did I not know this? You can set a default font for your documents in microsoft so that when you paste in text from other places, it takes on the default font rather than keeping the original font. AND pasting in stuff from another place doesn't change the existing font.
