OK so the back porch is now a swallowtail butterfly lab. Or could be if these guys don't get wiped out by another storm. More viable eggs this time, for sure. One caterpillar has the head start as others hatch.

My 'go out and touch grass' pics from today. Butterfly eggs, they're sneaky (some partially hidden); butterfly was too shy to get a pic of. And a big unit chile which I'm not sure what to do with yet.

Still goofing w/the new camera as season changes. Rains brought the meadow sage back to life, so here's a close up. Looks like little orchids if you get down in there. And a carpenter bee who doesn't care if the bee balm is fading; it has been buzzing round here for weeks.

Setting up a cam I bought off Nikon's refurb sale. Took a pic to get camera info from the image file. I never could get decent TV pics, but out of the box, the score logo is sharp, exposure good. OK. And Mentor's Floreia may have just scored his 3rd TD ... ooop, it touched the turf. 🏈

Deleted prior post, mis-identified again. New picture is from the other side of the planter, while the tickseed is kinda dormant, these other guys are hanging in during the hot weather. Same for the coneflowers, which needs more water and less sun (and smoke)
