I admit it - at SFO after leading a workshop on CBT for adult ADHD and chairing a symposium on advances in CBT for adult ADHD at the WCCBT conference, I ducked into a bookstore in the terminal to see if it had my book - and it did! www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/783710...

It’s been a month since Once I Get Started's release. Thanks to the teams at Avery & Bonnier/LEAP who are as committed as I am to spread the message of hope, acceptance, and strategies that work for adults with ADHD. @Avery_Books Change is possible, one step a step at a time.

It's nice to see that Once I Get Started is available through the Bucks County Free Library. I hope it sells but moreso hope it gets into the hands of people it can help the most.

Time blindness describes the “now versus not now” adult ADHD conundrum. If something is not happening now, it resides in the “not now” category until it magically appears “now,” which might be too late. US Orders: www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/783710... UK: geni.us/OnceIGetStar...

It's good for adults with ADHD to "think big" in terms of goals. But positive behavior changes, habits, and achievement of goals come from the accumulation of intentional, small steps. Order "Once I Get Started": www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/783710...

You do not think yourself into having ADHD. However, the frustrations of living with ADHD can create a pervasive mindset of self-mistrust that neutralizes your perceived life options and believing in yourself. Pre-order: www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/783710...

This is an “If You Know, You Know” scenario of executive dysfunction being the core issue underlying the difficulties faced by adults with ADHD - but not everyone knows, yet. That's why I address this in my new book. Pre-order: www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/783710...

Emotions do not appear in the diagnostic criteria for ADHD, though we now know emotional regulation difficulties are a core issue in living with ADHD. I devote a whole chapter (and then some) to this issue in “Once I Get Started.” pre order: www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/783710...

Procrastination is probably the most common topic area I address in my support of adults with ADHD. “I exercise almost every day – almost on Monday, almost on Tuesday …” That’s how I came up with the title “Once I Get Started.” Pre-order: www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/783710...

There are a lot of ideas about what ADHD "is" being thrown around, many of which are simply wrong and unhelpful. Providing a contemporary view of ADHD is one of the topics I tackle in "Once I Get Started." Preorder: www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/783710...
