T'was an interesting weekend. Had to get my first-ever MRI. Nothing scarier than checking if I have a herniated disc. Thankfully the answer is no, but unfortunately that prognosis doesn't make my neck feel any better 😵 Maybe it's the hours at the laptop.

I find myself thinking of new projects, but maybe that's for the best. Taking distance to the first draft will probably give me a new insight into evolving it. At least that's what I hear people say 😀

When I finished the first draft of my WIP, I know folks recommend you take a break before editing. Knowing myself, I knew that was going to be impossible, I'm too impatient. However, I ... never got around to it? It just didn't happen. A week passed and I _forgot_ about the WIP. Surprising.

I just wrote the words "THE END" in my WIP. 65 000 words. I know this is just one step in the journey, but for someone whose childhood dream it has been to write a book, I do have to admit getting to this point for the first time has me a bit teary-eyed. Feels really, really good.

I feel sometimes I operate purely on looming deadlines that force me into action.

Romance authors, help me out! I know there's no one easy answer, but what's an acceptable manuscript length for romance in the trad publishing world? I'd love to try that route, but my WIP is maybe coming a bit shorter than I expected, just shy of 65.000 words. How far off is this from being ok?

I’m really, really close to finishing my first-ever first draft. As I get closer to the end, I find two things happening: 1) I’m rushing to the end like there’s no tomorrow, causing me to just discard what I wrote in disgust. 2) My minds constantly jumping to ”what’s next?”

I tend to write a bunch of short stories every now and then that don’t end up anywhere. I wonder if I should set these up somewhere so interested folks could read them. What do people use for stuff like that - setting up a website or things like Substack or similar services?
