Irish professional genealogist. Let me help you break down that brickwall! Might also comment on non-genealogy things such as knitting, Strictly, Star Trek, books, history, politics & general Irish stuff. She/Her linktr.ee/cbgenealogy

It's so great to be able to help people using DNA.
Claire undertook a very difficult search for me to find details of my birth father..it took many twists and turns but her meticulous care in searching through many documents both in Ireland and England ultimately led to her finding his details & those of his family. I would thoroughly recommend her work to anyone searching for their birth family

Delighted with this great review!
I hired Claire to review my DNA and gnealogical ancestry work - I'm so glad that I made the decision to do this because she gave me the encouragement to continue and recommended a clear path forward. Her suggestions are clear and helped focus my thoughts and actions for each branch of my family tree. She kept in touch regularly while working on my case and it was great to meet her by zoom and talk through everything. This was followed by a written synopsis and recommendations. I fully recommend hiring her for any help you need with Irish ancestry and her rates are reasonable.

Using the GRO index, her birth surname varies from Paredd to Preta to Preti. #GenHour #WDYTYA But the 1911 census says she was born in Italy & eldest daughter born in France. Haven't found on 1901 yet.

I love this clip from the Irish Independent (17/4/1926) reporting on a Rotary Club lunch about the upcoming census. Men knew their place even then!
The "Head of the House" The information got under this heading would be most importnat, especially at present, when the housing problem was such a pressing and urgent one. Mr P Carton asked if steps would be taken to ensure the accurary of the returns. In the event of the head of the house not being at at home, who he asked should fill up the form? I should like to know, he added, amidst laughter, what is the definition of the head of the house? President (Mr MP Rowan) - I think that could be answered by saying if Mrs Carton is not at home you fill in the form (laughter).
