Just finishing the story collection Brawler by Lauren Groff. I didn’t love Fates and Furies, I like this better- her stories are all very dramatic and emotional which works better for me in short form. One story here, Birdie, about high school friends reuniting when one is dying, was excellent!

Rereading this favorite! Aside from enjoying the main characters- a married couple of reporters with an awesome working relationship- it is very timely about how people react to a disaster- avoidance and ignoring until the last possible moment.
