Yeah. Let’s see. Star Fox was pretty good. Never played 64, so I thought it was definitely a solid introduction for me as a newcomer to the series. I hope the OOT remake will be the same for others who haven’t played it before, since it’s an absolute masterpiece.

Idunno. It might be because people who like these videos are a specific target audience that cares more about photo realism, and the typical, broader Nintendo audience just isn’t that into it. I'm kind of on the fence about the new design, tbh. Personally, I prefer the art direction of BotW/TotK.

I tried to do that, but as a hobbyist, it just turned drawing into another chore to do in my spare time. So I decided that improving at my own pace was preferable if it meant art would continue being enjoyable for me. I still believe I improved quite a bit when I compare my stuff to two years ago.

Yeah... Something more than a surface-level check would at least be a start. Plus stricter requirements for storage, etc. I guess at this point the bar is pretty low for the US. Just do something but add more guns to the problem...

As we all know, the only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good drone with a gun… or something like that. But seriously, how hard is it to put at least a somewhat comparable effort into checking if someone can own a rapid-fire, ranged weapon to making sure they know how to drive a vehicle...?

I've had a similar experience before. It's sad because the commissioning process should be the most fun part of getting an artwork. So at the end you just had a bad time with the process, and the resulting artwork is tainted by that. Getting the artwork or a refund never undoes that, unfortunately.

If you don't need to model complex relationships and constraints, a relational DB likely isn't the right tool in the first place. There are tradeoffs to everything. I think, rather than dismissing an entire technology, it would be wise to look at the actual use case and what tradeoffs you get.

I mean, SQL is just a query language. The query optimizer will still take a look at your query, table stats, and indexes and generate an efficient execution plan. For better performance on certain queries, you can also use indexes (hash, btree, …). This can improve performance a lot.
