I don't think I'm beating this game by the time Ocarina of Time remake comes out 😭

Quick Fire Emblem update: I am entirely engrossed in this game. 160 hours in and THERE'S STILL SO MUCH!!! I've completed Part 1 for 3/4 of the Flame Lords. I'm enjoying everything, including the time management and optimization. Things obviously get easier the more you do them! 👍

I'm trying to avoid seeing anything about Ocarina of Time remake until release but I do want to bring this up. I never really enjoyed the Forest Temple in this game mainly because it wasn't as "foresty" as I would've liked. I hope the remake at least adds more overgrowth in the halls and chambers

You beat Ocarina of Time Remake, reach the "THE END" screen. We then see Link at his house prepping for a journey as we see flashbacks of Impa giving him a new shield and Malon letting him take Epona cut to him and Epona strolling in a forest *hard cut to black* SKULL KID LAUGH

While I REALLY want a Majoras Mask remake, the people need to come to terms with the idea that it won't happen. OoT and MM are not seen as equals, both in the public and Nintendo. Ocarina of Time gets this remake because it's the precious generational icon celebrating the series.

Starting the week off strong (sarcasm) Getting out of a car service contract, have to get my car inspected, then registration renewal. Also shoutout to the officer that pulled me over to let me know one of my brakes is out 👍

Cayden @ Adventures of Elliot @caydentdawg.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

While I do REALLY want Majora's Mask to get a remake after OoT, I think people that also say that underestimate how much time it would take. Reusing assets only got the N64 version so far, and now with how details environments are and the new assests needed, it can't just be a 1 year asset-flip.

I have the perfect plan. Replay Metroid Dread leading into Ravenous' release, resulting in a the perfect lengthy 2D Metroid experience🙏🔥 Dread is short enought (and peak enough) where I don't mind replaying.

......I just don't think it's a good disguise... Good design, poor disguise imo.

The Switch 2 not having a "system seller" at this point really doesn't matter, especially for a console that has sold as much as it has in it's first year. I think people put too much importance on "system sellers" and only use them as a metric to downplay the other games that are released.

SOMETHING REALLY COOL THAT I NOTICED Link actually fingers along with what he's playing!!! I'm not an ocarina player but apparently the fingerings are accurate! This level of detail really makes me happy as a musician who always searches for instrument representation and accuracy for funsies.

Cayden @ Adventures of Elliot @caydentdawg.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

If you're interest in Metroid Ravenous is piqued, I recommend trying out Metroid Dread! There's a demo! Buttery smooth gameplay and movement, cinematic combat and cutscenes, collectibles out the wahoo, and a completionists dream. Also I forgot to mention Samus has UNREAL levels of aura

I hope people learned their lesson and stop giving attention to "leakers" I'm already seeing the fallout of people that really fell for the "this Direct will have Smash Bros" leak or rumor

130

Cayden @ Adventures of Elliot @caydentdawg.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Once again, that was a really good Nintendo Direct for people that actually like games! 👍

Kinda sad they changed the Hookshot design into a Clawshot. Idk why it throws me off since I love the clawshot in other appearances. I'm not complaining, I just feel some type of way...

I'm pretty sure that's Matt Mercer again as Ganondorf. I enjoy his Ganondorf but I kinda wish it was a new actor to switch things up. He sounded really good in the trailer though!

Cayden @ Adventures of Elliot @caydentdawg.bsky.social · 10/09/2026

Mapped out what I predict the full tapestry to look like but I can't place those 7 regions above Ganons Tower. Maybe side content like Lon Lon Ranch, Gerudo Training Grounds, etc.?

pretty sure this is the first ever Zelda specific Direct which is wild I expect: - the first Zelda movie TEASER (not full trailer) - Ocarina of Time remake extended look - EITHER Twilight Princess on NSO or WW and TP HD ports crazy hopes: - Some sort of collection - a 2D remake - New 3D Game tease

010

Cayden @ Adventures of Elliot @caydentdawg.bsky.social · 04/09/2026

WE TAKE THOSE!!! I figured we'd be getting a Zelda specific Direct because the movie is coming in April, similar to the Mario Galaxy movie and there was a movie Direct for that around this time last year. Since we also have the OoT remake, a Zelda Direct that covers both (and more?🤞) makes sense.

It wasn't until the FF7 Revelation reveal a couple months ago that I realized Cid was supposed to be a Dragoon..... All these years I just thought they needed to give this scrappy guy a weapon that wasn't already used and they just landed on spear arbitrarily.

I watched the Elden Ring intro guide that Nintendo posted and I'm not gonna lie..... I'm mildly interested now... Looks like a LOT more variety than what I've seen from Lies of P (not terribly far but still only like 3 weapon types I think)

If the Ocarina of Time remake doesn't give us a bad ending that contextualizes the "Downfall Timeline" then what's the point?? If I die in the final battle, I BETTER see a cutscene that shows the Sages hitting the "Emergency Seal Evil" button!

Was in a minor car accident last month (it was the other persons fault) and my insurance let me choose between repair coverage, or just outright paying me for the damages. I very much need my car and can't afford to send it in for minor repairs so I GOT PAID BABYYYY

YOU ALREADY KNOWWWWWWWWWWWWW My boy got emotion, interpersonal relationships, hype moments, emotional moments, tuff eyes, tuff items, tuff outfit, etc. His swag is too heavy for this world.

Cayden @ Adventures of Elliot @caydentdawg.bsky.social · 14/08/2026

Holy bias but the Ys 8 outfit is goated. I love the sailer look and even while fitting the setting, I think it works as a standard outfit like Link's Green Tunic. If he were in Smash, I'd want it to be with this design.

Finally gonna be making some money at the end of the month so I will be able to buy a game finally! I need to figure out which one I get first. Elliot or Splatoon? 🤔

020

Cayden @ Adventures of Elliot @caydentdawg.bsky.social · 07/08/2026

✅✅✅ I finished my replay of Ocarina of Time. I decided not to include it as a game I beat this year since I only picked it back up to play alongside my friend and his playthrough so I could accurately help him. I love the game but there's quite a bit that I don't think aged very well.

040

Cayden @ Adventures of Elliot @caydentdawg.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

Silent protag with silent head nods in dialogue sequences. We JUST got Shez and Alear that had spoken dialogue and established personalities and now we're back to this? Byleth but worse? I'm so tired man COME ON 😭💔🥀

010

Cayden @ Adventures of Elliot @caydentdawg.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

One more thing on Ocarina of Time and what I hope the remake reworks is making the writing less "video gamey" There's a lot of "You have to get the thing and do the thing to free the thing" and I get that the game is played very straight and kinda cartoony but I hope it gets sauced up.

030

Cayden @ Adventures of Elliot @caydentdawg.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

I believe this is the first game to call the entire weapon class "spears" instead of "lances" Spears have always been a weapon under the "Lance" category.

110

Cayden @ Adventures of Elliot @caydentdawg.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

I've been watching along as my friend plays Ocarina of Time for the first time and I'm realizing this "story" is hard carried by the Sheik scenes. I can't imagine why the story of all things is touted as a phenomenal work. We got themes and subtext though ✌️ REMAKE SAVE MEEE! (I love the game btw)

120

Cayden @ Adventures of Elliot @caydentdawg.bsky.social · 04/08/2026

Something I hope gets ammended in the OoT remake is the pressence of the sages. Making actual characters out of them and developing their relationships with Link. "you AND Ruto defeated the evil" WHAT DID RUTO EVEN DO?!?! We see Impa two times ever... Nabooru barely gets a pass.
