verify my email account as if I was setting up discord for the first time. and now it works. also I could join voice chat while this whole thing was happening just not view messages. discord is VERY FUNCTIONAL.

Update: fixed it. somehow. Discord is an amazing and very functional program where APPARENTLY your verified email address tied to your account and suddenly stop being verified for seemingly no reason when you try to join a server. And someone sending me a friend request gave me the popup to

What makes it really strange and frustrating is that I can load the client, I can see that people have messaged me, but I cannot load any actual messages or profiles, I'm getting the little circles with numbers for DMs and servers but I cannot see my account status to know what's going on. gahhhhhhh

lesson learned, anything and everything online (including the ability to talk to your friends) can be taken from you at any point. I don't know what I could have done to cause this. I attempted to join a server about a game, which is what discord is supposed to be for, and whoops no account

it telling me to do was what I was submitting a support request because I couldn't do. It seems like all I can do is wait with no information on what's actually happening. I don't know what I did, but being cut off from my friends is not helping me try to not panic about this

Since it was automatically marked solved, I doubt any of discord support's actual people are going to see it, so I submitted a second support request explaining the issue more clearly. The response was the same, and it was automatically marked as solved despite (cont.)

The response I got was from the automated system telling me to appeal via the app (I don't even know if this is an issue with something that CAN be appealed, no actual confirmation of my account being restricted) and that support ticket was automatically marked as "solved" (cont.)

"Hello, When I try to log into Discord it lets me and I can see my servers, friends list, notifications, etc but when I try to open any DM or text channel there is nothing but a warning saying messages failed to load. This started after trying to join a server, which logged me out on all platforms (this is happening in the desktop client, on the web client, and on my phone) and while I was able to log in again using my security token this is now what happens. I attempted the usual methods of clearing the cache and reinstalling the desktop client and logging out and in again and nothing happening. I attempted to make a new discord account to try to contact my friends to let them know I was having issues and wouldn't be available, but that account got struck down for a violation while attempting to verify the email, Which leads me to believe that my main account may be suffering from the same fate (Despite there being nothing saying as such when I log in, and having had no emails about it) But I'm entirely unaware of anything I did that could have caused that, like I said I just tried to join a server which for some reason logged me out on everything and now this is what I'm getting. I'm extremely confused and worried, any information (even just confirmation that my account has been disabled for some reason that I don't understand) would be appreciated. Thanks. However I had recieved no emails from Discord saying so, and there was nothing on the app or the site or the client saying that my account had been restricted, and I can't access the "account status" page, it simply displays "something went wrong". I contacted discord support (cont.)
