It needs be said: Aggro Crab's PAX booth is Peak design. (I just love the hell out of the food and safety sign there are so many good lil touches to this)
A sign mimicking the Washington Public Heath Food Safety Rating but the symbols have been replaced by PEAK faces, including the top rating which is PEAK.

Watched the Dungeon Masters premiere last night and this basically sums up my entire thoughts.
Brooklyn 99 meme, woman holding a dog but the dog's face has been overlaid with a picture of Lavender the Goblin. Bottom text reads: I've only had Lavender for a day and a half, but if anything happend to him I would kill everyone in this room and then myself.

And smacking the nuance button, there are absolutely instances where bulleted lists are good. This is not a binary yes/no toggle. But what made me want to run Lancer was not a summarized flow chart of the Union's bureaucracy. It was this collection of paragraphs.
IMG with text reads: "The first messages arrived almost immediately, and with them came the third great trauma: the voices of Old Humanity, thousands of years ancient and dead, carried on signals garbled by radiation, time, and distance, crying out to their home for help; lost souls that begged for aid, guidance and their loved ones. Millenia of messages, recorded and playing on endless, decaying loops for the survivors to hear.

This was the voice of Old Humanity as Union had never expected it: a desperate cry for help, a lonely gasp as the air ran out. A plea, unanswered, as the lights grew dim.

Shaken and sobered, FirstComm eventually returned to those messages, resolved to answer those calls and to ensure that whatever had caused them would never happen again.

Old orbital stations were retaken. Vast machine minds - the first artificial intelligences - were reactivated and set to puzzle out solutions that humans could not. New ships, proud and able, were launched towards those old signals, along ancient charted paths, and out toward new worlds.

Union could not bring their dead back home, but they would choke the stars with the living."

It's archive cleaning day. I save all of my players ttrpg character sheets (if they don't want them) as well as my own. It's not hoarding if there's proper documentation and organization.
A pile of different character sheets and tabletop supplies spread over a table and chairs with hot pink sticky notes to organize the chaos

Something I'm trying this year is taking physical notes for my games which has evolved into ttrpg scrapbooking. These are the npc relationship pages from my Shadow of the Wolf Lancer game.
Notebook with one blank page ready for notes and the facing page showing npc portraits cut out and clocks for relationships. Scissors and tape also visible.Pictures of NPCs and circles showing how friendly the character is. Closer to blue is friendlier, pink is less friendly.

For Trans Day of Remembrance we read the names of the dead and for each name, cut a rose from its stem. I wrote something to try and end with hope. I couldn't read it. There are too many here and I don't know if it will get better.

Shoutout to best fandom bud for tolerating my liveblogging of KinnPorsche like 20 lifetimes ago
Text from a discord conversation:
- Starting ep 2 now I'm calling this one Welcome to Bodyguard Con
- We have our own hotel
- Okay Pete is an adorable nerd and I'm adopting him right now
- OH NO put that wasabi paste down
- NO PORSCHE
- NO
- "This your new guy? Seems your type." Ah I'm glad that the general homoeroticism of the bodyguard is acknowledged
- [casually insulting several mafia heirs] I'd say that Porsche doesn't understand the gravity of his situation, but he's had guns pointed at him life 5 times and it's only ep 2 I think he understands and has 0 survival instinct
- ... Okay casually shooting the apple of Porsche's head was fairly sick I will grant it to Kinn

I played Chuck in Eat the Reich and it's one of my favorite play experiences ever. Terrible cannibal cowboy vampire ❤️
A cowboy vampire in a wooden coffin, smiling with a sharp toothpick in his moth. All of his teeth are sharp and misaligned. He wears a necklace of human teeth and has an ear pined to the lapel of his coat.

12. Bluebeard's Bride - How did I not mention Bluebeard's Bride to this point?!? One of my favorite memories in gaming was running this where a 1950's housewife fed a player's hand lovingly into a garbage disposal on a soundstage to of crackling audience laugh track.
A woman admires a string of gold pearls in front of a vanity mirror with her back turned to the reflection of a woman who is gaunt and menacing in the mirror.

11. Mork Borg - Okay I have to confess... I don't actually like running Mork Borg. BUT. BUUUUUUT. It's such an amazing book-as-art-object. Just oozes style and graphic design in a way that's really inspiring. So while the game itself might not be my fav, I often pop it open for inspiration.
a rough sketched skeleton with a pig's head and an upside down cross on it's forehead stands in front of a neon yellow background with the name Mork Borg in big, rough, font behind it.

10. Deimos Academy - Hey do you wanna experience boarding school trauma in the form of being haunted through a coloring book? Never was at a boarding school but if you don't think I draw on every wild experience of being a transman at an all girls catholic school for this game...

8. Koriko - I promise I like more than just horror have this lovely little solo journaling game that's got big Kiki's Delivery Service vibes and is heart warming in ways that's just... aaaaaaaaaa
The cover art of Koriko: a magical year. Featuring a person on a motorcycle with a cat riding on the back. The person is wearing jeans covered in patches and a tall witch's hat. A cat sits on the back of the bike and the view over the stone wall shows a town on a seaside cliff.

7. Call of Cthulhu - Listen I'm a simple man and I like the classics. One of my favorite games I'm running right now is the Masks of Nyarlathotep campaign and it's so fucking good. Any time I have an excuse to dig up my 1920s library its a good time.
The cover to Call of Cthulhu, depicting Cthulhu rising up out of the ocean, surrounded by sharp pointed obelisk and a very very small boat at the bottom left.

3. Alien the RPG - I love the stress dice! I love keeping track of where the alien is moving and exploration turns. Look at this lil beautiful guy. I just like games that give me an excuse to describe body horror. There's a lot of good body horror here.
A rough picture of what looks like an astronaut at first glance, but the head is bulging, one eye white and cloudy and also bulging in the socket. Skin is pale white with red purple veins.

2. Alice is Missing - A game I will always volunteer to run. Got me interested in designing ttrpgs in the first place. Something about having an actual timer on the game also makes it easier to get people to commit to playing. Fucks up my feelings every time.

1. Vampire the Masquerade - Vampire the Requiem was the first game I ever played & Vampire still holds a very important seat in my little dead heart. WoD first influenced my GMing style, especially political/mystery building. I'll yell about Loresheets and the VtM v5 Hunger Dice all day.
Vampire the Masquerade core rulebook cover. A woman's face with luxurious makeup and a large, ornate earing looks at the reader with a blank look. The covers is splattered with reds and purples that look like drops of oil or water but mostly simulate blood. The picture looks hazy and almost surreal or grimy with a black circle that looks like a water ring left by a cup taking up the top left hand corner.

Finally got a chance to play Eat the Reich and my god what a game. We only got to sector 2 cause we were feeling goofy but every character sheet is a fucking delight to build off of and play. I played Chuck cause of course I'm gonna play the corpse eating cowboy. But next time I'm playing Flint.
Two pin up post cards for characters from Eat the Reich, Chuck and Flint. Chuck is a bullet riddled cowboy, shirtless and playing with his suspenders. The card reads Corpse Eater. Flint is a terrible bat human cuddling and licking a steel coffin. The card reads Ravenous.

Day 16 of #RPGaDAY2024 Quick to learn - Whenever I didn't have all of the kiddos together to run for my younger D&D tables, I ran Beak, Feather, and Bone because it was wicked simple to pull together. A map RPG that can be a great session prelude to a new area or just a fun time coloring.

#RPGaDAY Day 14 - Great Gear I'm gonna go with Traveler on this, less for any one particular piece of gear, and more it's one of the few RPGs where tracking money/economy feels valuable to me. Every Credit matters and debt is a great way to motivate characters into action.

What's a monthly challenge without jumping in midway though? Day 12 of #RPGaDAY2024 I think Call of Cthulhu has the best supported campaigns, between Chaosium's slipcases and HPLHS phys props. Honorable mention: D&D's Curse of Strahd specifically has so much community support, it's crazy.
