The constant condescension about ai is another aspect of it that makes me hate it more. The assumption is you can only be against it because you don't understand it like I do. No man. I don't like voluntarily making every human enterprise dependent on a tech run by a tiny group of financial maniacs

Just a small PSA, don't give your significant other ideas 20 minutes before going to see a comedy show. The Internet is forever @jbrandhorst.com 😘😂🦵🏻 youtube.com/shorts/_MHAS...

Just when I feel like I'm able to crown the winner of the 'This really is the worst API documentation I have ever read' award, I get surprised by a new entry to the contest.

I am nearing the end of my Recurse Center batch and starting to look for work! If you know of something short- or long-term that might be a good fit, please be in touch. More details in the next post

Waking up to discover that Google has finally introduced more options for Docs code blocks. We've got Go, we've got Rust, we've got Protobuf, we've got SQL!!! It's like Christmas over here.

Whether you are a business or an OSS project - if you maintain documentation, please use redirects when making changes to your docs content structure, or if deprecating something, leave a page to say that happened. The number of 404s I've hit from docs linked in issues this week is soul crushing.

Met a cat on a walk yesterday during my run. More chance of seeing a cat fly than any of my three wanting to go on a leashed ramble through the forest. 🐈

On my first day at Edera, a post was casually dropped into general chat saying 'Hey! We're going to be starting series A chats, will keep you updated!'. I thought I'd at least get a welcome drink before sitting on the rocket, but weee let's go 👩🏻‍🎤🚀 P.s. We're now on Reddit! reddit.com/r/edera

Logged into my icloud mail account for the first time in a few years. Looks like someone used my email for their wedding vendors in 2023, and had their wedding cake cancelled because they didn't pay for the invoice... which was sent to my email. Hope it was a good day regardless 🫣

Luna, the cat @jbrandhorst.com and I adopted 6 months ago, has just become comfortable enough with us to enjoy the desk cat life 😭 The emotional support banana played a big role in making this a reality 🍌🐈‍⬛

This image is a great representation of what my Sunday was like. Except there was at least 3 or 4 tiny cute hippos chomping at my leg.

Yes, technically this is a ~brand~ account, but we promise not to be weird, we just want to hang out and talk about security and stuff. Anyone got some good CNCF or cybersecurity starter packs?
