oughaghghghghgh oof oof ough it is 8pm and i have. traced out all of the red fur pieces for fafa. still got all the white + black fabric to go (tummy, a couple of face and tail pieces, the ears, legs, and paws, so. uh. not an inconsiderable amount ToT;;;) have not actually started cutting yet.

a reader may have to personally pick and choose from the statements they think apply to the character vs the person writing) so i usually spend a lot of time rephrasing to take myself out of the allegory even when. i think it would lend relatable context ╯︿╰,

when in fact i think it is a very valuable form of character analysis and should be taken seriously, it's just. hard to phrase in a way that lets others understand it even if they're not the type to dismiss it out of hand

there's also a sense of like, frustration (to me, at least) about projection/character relation style meta, in that i feel like people don't take it as seriously (both bc of the aforementioned discomfort factor, and also just... an assumption that it's not serious character analysis?)

i try to always go back into my projection analysis and be like "ok so in what way is the character's experiences DIFFERENT from mine and therefore they might have a different nuance to this than me" which both feels safer and i think helps define characterization even better

oh yeah no i get you,,, there's a lot of things i actively avoid mentioning simply bc i put it in a fic so now it's like UH OH THEY CAN'T KNOW THAT CAME FROM ME..... but also i do think that projecting onto the character a little is a great way to get into them and give them life on the page...

i know the polite thing to do with projecting onto a character is write fanfiction about it so ppl can understand your vision w/o having to experience the discomfort of learning something vulnerable abt a stranger or acquaintance but sometimes u just don't have the energy to phrase it better y'know

that's also why i'm so concerned about strength too,,, my current ones barely feel like they are connecting through just stoatlian's fluff and fafafox is gonna have much thicker fabric/seams at that point! which is how i found out there are GRADES of magnet even within the "neodymium" type!

kind of!! i'm putting one in stoatlian's neck and one in fafafox's mouth so he can carry him!!!!!! i would put one in stoatlian's mouth too but 1) there's not very much room there.... 2) apparently keeping magnets close to each other can weaken them? and 3) lining them up would be hard,,,,,

ok by "industrial" they meant MRI's, ok reg neo disc magnets r safe so long as you don't literally place your phone or credit card directly against them. but i WILL have to have a pacemaker disclaimer before letting ppl snuggle the creatures at cons ^^;;;;;
