If you're outraged about price-gouging in Los Angeles in the wake of the fires, do something to support the most vulnerable tenants in the city: Contact Lindsey Horvath and demand an eviction moratorium and a rent freeze (213) 974-3333 thirddistrict@bos.lacounty.gov

Phone Zap - Call LA County Supervisor Lindsey Horvath to demand a full eviction moratorium and rent freeze for LA County! Protections for the people, not for Airbnb!

“As the climate inexorably worsens, California’s cities have become, for anyone not blessed with unconscionable wealth, agonizing places to live—which is what some of us still like to do in cities.”

California Elegy | Ben Ehrenreich

The stockaded dream of California’s settlers lives on. You can find it in every gated and green-lawned subdivision, in the paranoid politics of frightened whites.

RealPage might not be a cartel but they've enabled landlords across the country to behave like one. Algorithms shouldn't be setting the price of anything, especially things as essential as housing.

A freshly painted San Francisco victorian, built in 1900. #35mm #streetphotography #architecturephotography #historicarchitecture #sanfrancisco

A three-story Victorian mansion sits on a hill next to a tree in San Francisco, CA. It's a sunny day. The home has recently been painted various bright shades of blue with a white trim and gold detailing. The painter's blue port-a-potty sits in the driveway, blending into the house.
