Steam definitely is not having a very happy Castlevania day, and, man, the game really is ROUGH.

A screenshot of the Steam review section saying "Mixed (1,947)", meaning the reviews for the game are mixed.

If you see this, post a vampire that isn’t Dracula.

A screenshot from the 1996 video game Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain that depicts a medieval-looking knight with long silver hair, red eyes, a ferocious looking expression, wearing red-and-black armor and holding a large sword. To the right is a user interface that looks like three statues holding an ord, a sword, and a book, and several equipment options below, including a sword and armor.

The lack of pixel art in Belmont's Curse is NOT the issue here. I bet most old-school fans would LOVE a high-res Castlevania that looks like a moving Ayami Kojima painting or a Universal monster movie, or a Technicolour-ass 'Vania that looks like a 60s Hammer film. #Castlevania #BelmontsCurse

A painting by Ayami Kojima depicting Alucard from Castlevania. A very handsome man, pale, silver-haired, poses with a sword, dressed in black. Behind him, a dark castle is sihouetted against an unnaturally large moon.

A painting by Ayami Kojima depicting her version of Simon Belmont from Castlevania Chronicles on the PS1. A red-haired warrior dressed in furs, his arms and legs naked, attacks with a whip and a sword. Monstrous bats swarm around him, and on a blood-red background a golden crescent seems to trace an off-center nimbus around the warrior's head.

Photos of pages from a Castlevania artbook by Ayami Kojima. Depictions of Dracula, his wife and son. Dracula is haughty silver-haired nobleman sporting a mustache and a tasteful goatee, dressed in red and black. His wife, Lisa, is a blonde beauty with a sad face, dressed in black and white, her dress resembling a mourning dress and a nun's bahit all at once. Dracula's son, Alucard, is a handsome young man, pale, with long silver hair, dressed in black and gold and armed with a long sword, looking aloof yet determined.

A bunch of screenshots from the 1966 British movie Dracula - Prince of Darkness by Hammer Films. Shot in bright technicolour with saturated colours, especially red. Interior and exterior of a gothic castle, well-dressed travellers, Dracula played by Christopher Lee, 44 years old at the time.
