Happy 5th Anniversary of #kidlitartpostcard day! I am posting a little late. I was helping my parents move on Thursday so it is only fitting that this image is inspired by a trip we took when I was little to Vancouver Island--where it rains a lot . . .

It is a miserable wet day here, so I am dreaming of somewhere a bit more pleasant. This is one of my recent illustrations and I think it turned out really fun. I particularly like the light around the figures in the foreground. #childrensillustration #aquarium #ocean #watercolor

$A grandparent and grandchild sit on a bench in front of an aquarium wall. There is a a blue light refracted on the floor and they are rimmed in white around their largely silhouette figures. The aquarium has colorful corals in pink and orange, a number of brightly colored fish, orange sharks, a lilac manta ray and a whale shark looking in on the human figures.$ Close up of yellow and purple striped fish, pink sponge and a trio of orange and pink striped fish. There are starfish on the rocks, and the hand of the grandparent can be seen.

A close up of the whale shark, as well as three orange and purple striped fish. There are rays of light coming from the top of the image.

A close up of the two seated figures on the bench. The grandparent has her arm over the shoulder of the kid, and his pointing to something in the aquarium. There is a bag with a few objects sitting by the bench. The child has yellow boots and a backpack. They are rimed in white light. Beyond them are a number of fish, corals and rocks in blue.

Hurrah! It's #kidlitartpostcard day :D I had a lot of fun with these characters. I actually started with the tea party and went back to explore a bit of this little girl and the stuffies she doesn't go anywhere without.

A purple dinsosaur stands with one hand on a table, talking to a little girl ink a pink dress and striped hat. They are debating something. A bear sits at the table looking concerned about the conversation. The table has a yellow checked table cloth and a strawberry themed tea set. There is a dog sleeping in the grass in front of the table.

A few drawings of a princess in pink running, standing with her stuffies and smiling. The stuffies are a purple dinosaur and a brown bear. There is a dog with brown spots and fluffy ears running.

It's #kidlitartpostcard day! I am a little late but still on the day! I am an illustrator that works in pencil crayon and watercolor and I love drawing cute illustrations full of whimsy and magic. #childrensillustration #traditionalart #magic

A cute elf with pompom pigtails and a stripey green and yellow hat with a crown is running across a field of multi-size stars in pastel colors. The elf is carrying a giant spoon that is also full of pastel stars. The sky is blue and purple with more stars.

Francisco is being veeeeeerrry sneaky. Please don't tell him that you saw him, even if new rocks in the spring are bound to catch some attention . . . he is trying very hard! Which one do you like better? I tried this one twice cause I wanted to see how it would turn out. Let me know!

I could have sworn I posted last week but I see I did not. I did this painting recently, trying to let myself focus on a few elements instead of a dozen. I think it turned out very cute! #childrensillustration #watercolor

Sunfish or Mola Mola and company of black and white striped fish who are approached by a small mermaid who wants to swim with them. The sea is deep blue and the mola mola is pastel pink and purple and yellow. The mermaid has teal hair and a pink tail and a green shirt with a star on the front.

I'm back! Here is one of my latest paintings, a pink haired unicorn and a princess. I do think more creatures should be ROUND. #watercolor #childrensillustration #unicorn

The struggle is real trying to find the brain to draw AND post things. They definitely use different parts of the ol' noggin. I will try and put some more of what I have been working on. #kidsillustration #watercolor #art #illustration #cute

I have been encouraged to join my friends over here on Bluesky! After quite some time feeling rather leery of posting my art on socials (AI scraping makes me sad) I am trying to get myself to post again. This is older, but once I get Glaze and/or Nightshade going I will have new things to share!

A young hare in glasses wearing overalls and white shirt rolled up to his elbows is sitting on his bed in front of a toolbox with some sort of mechanical device in his hands. He is surrounded by a warm glow of a lamp. He has lots of books and carrot pillows.
