The toddler yesterday was actually pretty quiet, but audibly disturbed by some of the scarier scenes she couldn’t have possibly understood.

Call me crazy, but a 2-yr-old really shouldn’t be at a PG-13 movie. I hope they pipe down when the movie starts (I’m one of only for folks in the theater, so that’s cool.)

Knitting, candles, dark chocolate, and the Sanderson sisters as we mourned a beloved LBC last night - not ours, but a dear one to our family.

The hair has been cut in anticipation of chemo fallout. I don’t like it, but that’s life. (I caught the bangs a little too close, but that will fix) Saved a braid of what I chopped off because no idea if any red will return.

Went to a different place for dinner tonight in Langley right on the waterfront so we sat outside awhile after dinner. There were two crows who stayed close to each other - when one moved, the other sidled right back up to them, clearly a pair.

Things of note today, 4/12: It’s Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls’ b-day (celebrated in song), taxes are done, the Torrent have an open hockey practice which the other 2/3 of the household are attending, plans made for travel to Filkconbobulated in late June, and I’ve lost 25% of my former body weight.

We were informed that the original space for the con suite had been double booked. So instead of being upstairs, the con suite will be right across the hall from the rest of the con space. I love it when a plan comes together!

Registration is open, follow the link on filkconbobulated.org. If there are any questions or problems, let us know. We are still looking for help with sound, mostly stage prep. We do want to do an instrument petting zoo. Let us know if you are going to bring something nifty for folks to play.

This is an official notice from FilkCONbobulated headquarters in the Crowe & Dove House deep in the wilds of Iowa! Room reservations and registrations continue quite well. The room reservation cut off is June 4 so get in there and get your room reserved to make sure you get the convention rate.

For me it was taking over as solo choir director at my church after two of us shared the job. But I got only 75% of the total salary (which was the same for 20 years!) because I was “a married woman who wasn’t responsible for supporting my family” (i.e. I was working for *fun*). Then it got worse…

Today I committed a wonderful Spoonerism; instead of saying I walked into it “with eyes wide open” I said “ with wise eyed open”. Still makes sense when I think about it.

How disappointing for Guides. GSUSA (Girl Scouts of the USA) still welcomes all girls who identify as girls, thank goodness.
