#summer and #cats being #sporty
A single-panel cartoon drawing in pen and ink of two cats on a grassy hill with a slight grade. They are both wearing waterskis and hold a waterski tow line, taut, between them. The one cat higher up in the hill is saying, “This would be so much easier if we were on water, had a boat and weren’t cats.” There is a big cloud in the background and few abstracted flowers in the grass.

#lavender #watercolour
Pen and ink drawing of a woman in a hat, striped long-sleeved shirt and overalls, watering, with a watering can, a small shoot of lavender growing out of a plant pot. A snail is climbing up the side of the plant pot. Only the lavender is painted in watercolours, full colour. Pen and ink drawing of a woman in a striped, long-sleeved shirt and overalls, and flip flops, she has just fallen backwards, legs askew, sitting up looking surprised at the lavender plant mentioned in the first slide now in full bloom in what seems like an instantaneous burst of growth. Her hat is flying off. The lavender plant is full colour, purple and green and painted with watercolours.

Some of my cats’ favourite things.
A cartoon drawing of a cat wearing an apron sitting behind a small vendor cart on wheels. There is a small, striped sun umbrella at one end of the cart tilting away from the cat. On the front of the cart are numerous signs indicating what the cat is selling; string, fluff, twist ties, lint, spiders and scrap of paper. The vendor/cat is staring at a bird and a cat walking by. The bird is wearing a turtleneck sweater and corduroy pants and carrying a tote bag. The cat walking beside the bird is wearing a suit and tie and carrying a briefcase. They are looking at the cat/vendor. The cartoon is drawn with pencil.

Water soluble pencils and ink on paper. #winter
A cartoon drawing in pen and ink of a person walking a dog, the snow is deep. They are standing in a clearing surrounded by trees sketched with a water soluble pencil, simple tree branch shapes. (A wet flat brush dragged vertically through the lines of the trees was used to give a misty feel.)

Reading with cats, Holiday edition. These two love a good story. Happy Holidays! #reading #fiction with #cats
Pen and ink cartoon drawing of a women in a red sweater, Nordic-inspired, with white snowflake patterns on the front and red and white patterns in the arms. The woman is sitting on some throw pillows on the floor in front of a wing chair with an open book on her lap. Behind her in the chair is a stack of books of all sizes. She is also wearing a red and white Santa hat. A mostly white cat with some tabby patches lounges on the top of the chair one leg dangling watching on casually as the women reads, another cat peeks out around the side of the chair on the left side of the drawing. The women is reading- “This is a story of two cats that allowed the tree to be up longer than twenty four minutes.”

Cartoon drawing of Santa seated on a stool, he’s wearing an old-style painting smock holding a paint palette while working on a still life of a Christmas cactus on a canvas resting on an easel. The cactus sits on a tall stool just to the right and behind the easel. Hiding behind the plant is a cat getting ready to knock the plant off the stool. Santa says, “Don’t.”Cartoon drawing of a Christmas cactus plant being knocked to the ground, bits and pieces flying every which way. Santa appears to flying off to the left of the image, only his boots and pant cuffs are showing. Only the tail and back feet of the cat are drawn, the cat is getting out of there fast. In both images we see the profile of a glass cat votive candle/ink bottle holder at the top of the photo.

‘Tis the season. #festive #painting (after Norman Rockwell)
An homage to Norman Rockell’s self portrait only with a pine tree painting a portrait of itself. A tiny owl sits above the mirror the pine tree is glancing at. Coloured lights hang over the mirror. The pine tree is smoking a pipe. The canvas shows the beginning of the self portrait, a smiling pine tree. The pine tree sits on a stool with one red curly toed slipper. A Santa hat sits at the top of the easel. A few brushes lay about around the artist and a bucket with reindeer drawings decorating its side.

Oops, pardon me! #sunbeams #cats #catsgettingalong
A pen and ink cartoon drawing of two cats resting in sunbeam falling across a rug and onto the back of a couch in a living room. Peeking over the couch is the cats owner snapping a photo of the cats with a vintage 35mm camera. The cat on the left, white with tabby patches on its face and ears and on its side looks into the camera. The other cat, a calico/tortoiseshell dozes in the sunbeam.

Places to go, Neil Young shirts to wear. Happy 80th Birthday Mr. Young! #neilyoung
A cartoon drawing in pen and ink with a light wash of a couple preparing to leave for a night out, dinner with friends or family maybe as the woman by the door is holding a tote bag with a bottle of wine in it. She is lifting her coat off of the coat rack and says to her partner, “We really need to go, but first you need to change everything, except(underlined) your Neil Young shirt, that’s perfect for any occasion.” Her partner has a perplexed look, he is wearing pants that are too short, or shorts that are too long, kind of like climbing pants maybe, anyhow not right for the dinner. The Neil Young shirt is a retro shirt of Neil Young’s head and shoulders, he’s singing and has his harmonica and holder and is playing guitar. His sideburns very long, wearing sunglasses, so cool. Swirls surround the text that say Neil Young above and below the T-shirt art. A cartoon to celebrate Neil Young’s 80th Birthday.

Not yet a morning person yet, but less of a night owl. #inkonpaper #illustration #drawing
Featured is a large rectangular wash of ink. In the centre, upper portion of the illustration is a highlighted cartoon-like half moon with a profile facing right. The moon has been hooked by a figure at bottom of the illustration, the figure holds the line taut, the extra line falls out of the ink wash area.

Timely post. #daylightsavings #clocks #timechange
Six zany/surreal drawings of cartoon clocks drawn in pen and ink. Clock dials/hands go every which way, one looks a bit like Salvador Dali, tiny sparrows fly around the clocks, a cat sit as atop the Dali clock watching the sparrows. Two pen and ink drawings of hourglasses. Both are on yoga mats. The top hourglass is on its back holding an alarm clock at arm’s length. The sand in the yoga glass is settled to almost a horizontal level. The bottom hourglass lies on its stomach/face down, with its legs bent up at the knees arms stretched out in front, the alarm clock is off to the side also face down. The sand in the hourglass is horizontal.

Taking a little break from social media for now. Not sure if the post, (that I reposted here), I mentioned was blacked out the other day on IG was from a glitch, the hashtags of banned comedians or the image itself. Either way it’s taken up too much energy, apologies if I got it wrong.
