(1) The Black Farm by Elias Witherow: Imagine if one major decision jumped you into an unforgiving place. A place so bad, hell is just slightly worse.

(1) Woom by Ralston Duncan: How much trauma can one room fit? Well. Surprisingly enough to fit a whole 120 page book. This was a short read but for sure a hell of a ride to get through, not one minute made me go “Ugh.” I do recommend. I also have to add, content warning.

(1) Manhunt by Gretchen Felker - Martin I have mixed feelings on this book (mostly, I had a hard time figuring out what character was which) I did find the thought of anyone having a high level of testosterone in this world, would cause you to also turn into a killing machine.

(1) Ring by Koji Suzuki: Say you had 7 days to find out how to stop a curse from killing you. How would you do it? Would you waste time or would you do the obvious way to stop it. What would be the obvious way to stop it? Well. You might not want to watch the tape in the first place.

Unfortunately last night, I only gave Pikachu 5 minutes of attention. Turns out he wanted more. Even though he walked away. I’m now the villain. #Catsofbluesky #Cats #Orangecats #Pikachu

Pikachu, on the bed across from me. He looks sad and disappointed at me for only giving 5 minutes of attention. Even though he walked away from me.

My orange and white cat Simba. He has freckles on his nose and he’s being a silly cute boy in the picture.

Pikachu discovered this week, that some bugs can fly. He wishes he could unlearn this. #Caturday #Catsofbluesky #Cats #Orangecats #Pikachu

My full orange cat, Pikachu. Is looking up in surprise and shock. His mouth is slightly opened. All because he saw a bug fly.

(1) The Wasp Factory by Iain Banks: What if you never existed? What if your whole world view was dependent on two people in your life? What if you were a lie? Honestly, even though I guessed early on what the twist would be. I was satisfied with how it all was written out.

(1) In The Miso Soup by Ryu Murakami: Did you ever want to be a tour guide in another country? Did you ever want to be one for the not so family friendly side of this country? Well, this book might change your mind.

Cat @catgirl1224.bsky.social · 23/05/2025

(1) Brother by Ania Ahlborn: I still have mixed feelings about this book, I liked it, and then it fell flat for me towards the end. But I still liked it. It can be a tough read, but sometimes you need a book that just doesn’t end the way you want it to. Just like how real life can be sometimes.

Cat @catgirl1224.bsky.social · 07/05/2025

(1) Clown in a Cornfield by Adam Cesare: I admit, I didn’t pay much attention to the synopsis. But that worked in the books favor for me. I thought the book was going to be one way, but then ended up a more interesting “Well. That’s not at all what I expected.”

Cat @catgirl1224.bsky.social · 20/04/2025

(1) Unbury Carol by Josh Malerman: It’s a slow burn of a book, but honestly. The ending made it worthwhile. I recommend. Although I will knock part of it and say. It needed less of Smoke. He’s just a bad guy, to be a bad guy. Most of the book he just wastes time on in his own petty world.

Cat @catgirl1224.bsky.social · 02/04/2025

(1) 172 Hours on the Moon: I don’t really know what to say about this book. It was a meh, kinda book. It was slow in the start, then rushed in the middle. The end was lackluster and predictable. I didn’t connect with any of the teenagers, didn’t really have time too either.

Cat @catgirl1224.bsky.social · 15/03/2025

Slewfoot: A Tale of Bewitchery: This book caught my interest from the moment I saw the memorial at the start. Abi, is a likable main character with an even likable sidekick. The events in her life were sad, but the book takes a fun twist. Next book: 172 Hours on the Moon. #book #booksofbluesky

Jurassic Park: They really should have listened to the mathematician. It was a pretty fun experience to read. Very different from the movies, John really just did it all for the money huh? Well. Unfortunately dinosaurs don’t really understand the concept of money.

So update on my life. My mom has dementia. She’s never going to get better. Insurance took 4 months to finally get us the payout for the fire. Check hasn’t cleared. Last but not least we’re close to being foreclosed on because insurance didn’t cover hotel or food cost, we were paying everything out-

For full transparency, the reason I didn’t post the weekly scale picture. I pulled a muscle this week and have been healing. I do small workouts, but my back hates me. Again.

This is Pikachu. These are his stages of sleep. Just a completely normal orange cat. #CatsofBluesky #Cat #Orangecat

Pikachu (my orange cat) is in the first stage of sleep, eyes open, getting ready to close.

Pikachu (my orange cat) is in the second stage of sleep. Eyes opened, brain empty, already in sleep stage.

Pikachu (my orange cat) in the last stage of sleep. Eyes still slightly opened, brain most certainly turned off, is already in a deep sleep.
