A play with @natlibscot.bsky.social maps suggest they were built mid 1930s (not visible on 1932 edition, but on 1939 edition) so could have been planned if not built by Bromley Rural District Council before Orpington UDC was formed. Post-war edition shows them as 'Bertrey Cottages'

I can remember the Laurence House site being a long term 'temporary' car park form the 70s with a view to it being used for a road scheme. Then 'Catford Island' (where the retail park is now) being under planning blight for a heck of a long time pending a different traffic scheme...

being pedantic, the 1 was around long before tram replacement, that the Surrey Docks - Aldwych bit has been there since bus route numbers started before 1914. 1920s photo at Lewisham Rennell Street (1 C was a short working of the full route) - www.ltmuseum.co.uk/collections/...
