A little flower-theming! In her casual ver, it's peach blossoms to indicate that is the most genuine version of Maybelle! The black 4-petal flower has no real-life basis as I wanted a star motif, but the lily of the valley is the flower of her birth month. Also, that flower is poisonous ฅ^ >ヮ<^₎

cate 🌸 box @catebox.bsky.social · 28/02/2025

I've always wanted to give Maybelle a clear "formal" wear with an updo, since I always have this one hangup of having distinct hairstyles appropriate for the situation (flowy = casual, updo = formal etc). Also I wanted a big silhouette to give a "boss" feel /ᐠ - ˕ •マ she's a dear oc for me ❤️

maybelle's childhood bear plush~ 🧸 #cate_ocs

you want entirely custom artworks, and entirely custom designs that I have to do based on random image and desc... and think it's worth $20 each yeah this is why only a few clients get extra arts from me for free 😔

one wasted my time discussing details for days only to ghost me a lot in between, and never paid the first invoice the next one wanted multiple fully custom blobs (no existing design at all) but didn't want to pay a commercial use fee (which includes design fee???)

I'm really appreciating previous clients of my blob and mini mascot comms ;;; oh my god the audacity of 2 of the latest ones is frustrating as hell

finally caught a bloom 🥺 I'm legit proud of my roselle plants since I started from seeds, and now I have flowers and calyxes!

also full disclosure it's borderline incest (I like proship sue me) since these two are second cousins so there's a shit ton of stuff to unpack there once I make my own interpretation from Two Time's lyrics

000

something about the character dynamic between two people who used to be strangers>>friends>>lovers>>exes>>friends again(?) that just gets me the mournful nostalgia for the lost moments is beautiful

100

my personal favorite take of the song is that it's about two distant "friends" that used to date and are now exes ngl the literal reason I drew this last year because it's exactly the vibe I'm going for between Maybelle and Hiro

cate 🌸 box @catebox.bsky.social · 15/02/2025

one of my truly personal artist goal is to make an OC animatic with Jack Stauber's song Two Time I'm quite fond of the wistful and bittersweet melancholy interpretation of that song
