Yes, but it’s hand-authored for each puzzle rather than one universal system. The Entity starts with subtle hints and becomes more direct the longer the player is stuck, and the hints stop or change once they make progress.

I didn’t really remove the red herrings. I mostly made the feedback clearer and strengthened the clues toward the real solution, so players can rule out wrong ideas faster. I also added hints for when someone spends too long without progressing.

Usually before. They still test a few red herrings, but after several playtests I managed to get the build to a point where players don’t get stuck on any puzzle for more than about three minutes.

They definitely try! But that’s partly intentional because experimenting with the menu is how players learn its rules. The puzzles aren’t just about finding the active option, they require understanding how each function affects the room and combining different interactions.
