Henri’s laugh was low but rumbled through him, “Oh yeah with all your missed shots. I am so lucky you were around to save the day.” The sarcasm dripped from his teeth like spiced honey.
“No chance you trained your horses to run from danger and circle back?”
Jem shook his head, teeth gritted in annoyance now.
“Didn’t think so. No, let me look. Maybe I can wrap it in something.” Henri spoke out loud as he looked around before he pulled the shirt off his back.
