Y'know, I saw the article that the UN voted to adopt the new map and went 'fuck yeah, that's great'. Didn't even check who voted what. Finding out that the US voted against it is both soul-draining and completely unsurprising.

Her specialties are alchemy, arcanima, and void magic, but she's fairly competent(by her standards) in other schools, too. I like to think the Scions and other story characters just forget it all the time because she's a hulking mountain of muscle and scars with several swords strapped to her.

It's apparently niche, considering people only ever come to her for fighting, but Rhaiya is Archon-level in terms of magical research. Her job tomes are literally her own research and notes. Every time someone suggests finding an expert on aether or magic, she's just '??? I'm right here, though?'

Both. Rhaiya will leave for weeks or months at a time on some very long trip to a distant corner of the world, but then also just hole up in her house or on her island for an equal amount of time. The Scions often have to physically drag her out of the house when that happens. (with good reason)

Definitely touch for Rhaiya. Anything to keep her grounded and not drowning in the pitch black. Outside of trauma reasons, though, acts of service. She will very much just wordlessly take care of problems for the people she cares about.

Despite how prickly she and hostile she gets, physical contact. Getting upset can cause spirals for her 'cause she's blind, uses aether to 'see', and absolutely terrified of the dark. So when that part of her brain doing that shuts down... Hugs. Hand holding. Anything to get her to turn it back on.
