Written by Emmapanada : 5/26/2025 Hello and welcome back to the horror novel review series, Horror ABCs! It’s been quite a while since my last review, so here’s a quick refresher. Typically in this ...

With nothing helping it stand out against the mass of small budget horror films released year after year, Baghead is another film to add to the pile of shorts extended to features that don’t quite jus...

Obsession is an incredibly unsettling experience that isn’t afraid to settle into the dark reality of the film and make you watch. Curry Barker is a name to look out for.

The movie plays out like a procedural mystery movie as a police officer tries to track down Katie and the woman who kidnapped her. Yet, there’s no air of mystery since we already saw who did it and wh...

Psycho Killer harks back to many of the often middling, masked killers of the past while attempting to put forth the question, “Is it not enough to have a big guy in a mask kill people?” It’s not, but...

While Chris Stuckmann’s feature debut demonic thriller is competently made, it’s hard not to feel like it suffers from issues with its writing: too much slow, and not enough burn.

Writer and filmmaker Duncan Birmingham’s debut feature is an incredibly solid addition to Shudder’s roster combining decent suspense with an enjoyable, if slightly predictable, script.

It's not enough to make a movie that looks good (this doesn't); the script also has to make any kind of sense at all. There has to be balance, there has to be a reason. Stories have to have a point th...

Name The Demon never manages to rise above the barest level of quality required of an independent production, suffering heavily from both subpar acting and poor, cliche riddled writing.

Bodycam, the most recent directorial outing from VFX artist Brandon Christensen, manages to keep a strong grip on its viewers through nearly its entire runtime.

For a film that revels in the level of minuscule audio detail to the level that undertone does, it's truly a shame that the greater whole never comes together in a meaningful way.

It’s been almost 5 years since I watched this for the first time, and I’ve had the itch to revisit it for a while. I recently noticed it had been added to Tubi, the people’s streaming service, so it s...

The Apartment is a classic single location horror film. As perceived days go by, the space becomes more and more claustrophobic and disgusting, but it doesn't quite stick the landing.

The hype is real, Sam Raimi has returned to horror. While some attempted to laud "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness" as his return to the genre, it’s undeniable that Sam’s back in control an...

It's possible for a film to simultaneously be overrated and underrated, and Mark Fischbach's "Iron Lung" is one of those films.

In a post "Return To Silent Hill" world, I think it's important to look back what what was and consider what could have been.

Entering with a dream sequence with the nightmare knob cranked to eleven, it’s hard not to feel like we might have something. Revelation seemingly has one goal, and it’s to make sure we don’t have a s...

It brings me no joy to report that Christophe Gans’ new Silent Hill movie is neither good as a film, nor an adaptation of Silent Hill 2.

The day is hot, the sun is high, and a new face has blown into town. The residents of Lago, a gold mining town in the nebulous American West, had long since sold its soul, aren’t friendly to strangers...

Guillermo del Toro’s gothic sensibilities are allowed to come out in full swing for this Frankenstein adaptation that shows an understanding of the source, and a willingness to adjust certain elements...

Delarosa has given us an wonderfully bloody indie horror film with a clear love of Evil Dead 2, and the practical effects that make us all look back on the ’80s with such fondness.

Scott Derrickson returns with a sequel that, for better or worse, cements this as “A Nightmare On Elm Street, but serious.”

Having finally made its world premier at Grimmfest in Manchester, UK, I'm thrilled to relay that The Driftless is a great film.

"What if this children's story was actually dark" is the cry of every boring forum chat, but Oz managed to tactfully navigate this pitfall.

I feel that Hell House LLC is a borderline masterwork of a found footage film, and it’s devastating to be forced to realize Cognetti seems to have run out of compelling ideas with Lineage.

The first thing you should know going into Weapons is… Whatever expectations you had set by Barbarian are probably correct.

The 2020s have been a wonderful revival for body horror, and Together is the most recent step in this direction.

The Arbors | 1.5/5 Written by Noah Dietz : 7/19/2025 I’ve been trying to get through my Letterboxd Watchlist recently. There’s some really great films on there (a review coming next week about one ...

After nearly two decades 28 Years Later brings us back to the world of the films, removed but connected in the important ways.

Let me take you back to the distant past of 2008. Iron Man had just come out, we were three Blade movies deep, and we were a mere year after Spider-Man 3 had tanked. Comic book movies hadn’t come to d...

It can hard to watch 28 Days Later without drawing a certain level of comparison to other popular zombie media. Thankfully, unlike some originators of common tropes, the story doesn’t feel excessively...

Final Destination Bloodlines keeps up the remembered energy of the original run, and manages to pick up in a better place than the franchise left off.

One Missed Call: Not One To Miss | 3.5/5 Written by Noah Dietz : 5/17/2025 Takashi Miike is a guy I’ve been circling for years. Since watching Audition in early 2020 as my first dip into his work...
