I suppose it depends on if you see “minority” as a collective status (in which case use intra) or see different minority groups as having distinct identities (in which case use inter). My feeling is that intra is perhaps a bit homogenizing?

Also, effects of social identification (whether strength of identification or shared identity) were smaller for actual behavior than for self-reported giving & were only found when giving was mediated through charities but not when giving directly to individuals.

The strength of identification (i.e., how strongly one identifies with the target) was more strongly associated with charitable giving than merely sharing a social identity with the target (e.g., both being from the same country).

Fundraisers could use different ways to appeal to donors based on the underlying motive: ❤️ Heart: make people experience emotions, 🧠 Head: show the gift will make a difference, 📘 Book: lean on morals or norms, 🔎 Binoculars: emphasize the personal benefits (or the minimal costs) for the donor.

Most agree climate change is the biggest threat to the #GreatBarrierReef 🪸 - but what about solutions? Our new study identifies a range of perspectives - from adaptative to transformational & we suggest how to navigate divergence of solutions🧭 👉https://rdcu.be/d2vwe
Radar chart shows three rings—the low score in the centre of the chart, the medium score represented by the ring in the middle, and the high score represented by the outer ring. Each line from the centre represents one dimension of wickedness—contestation, complexity, and uncertainty. The scores for the problem space are represented by the colour purple and the scores for the solution space are represented by the colour blue. The graph shows the blue solution space triangle is bigger than the problem space triangle. Both score the same on complexity, but the problem space scores lower on uncertainty and contestation.

CFP: Voluntas Special Issue on Philanthropic Foundations and Justice Philanthropy - www.istr.org
Over the past decade, there have been growing criticisms that philanthropic foundations, which include a variety of grant making organizations, are elitist and inattentive to the needs of marginalized communities. While private foundations and community-based grant makers across the globe have slowly responded to these critiques, COVID-19 and the racial justice movement of 2020 have highlighted the imperative of addressing issues of inequality and structural racism. This convergence is propelling what may be the most substantial change in philanthropy in generations—a commitment to systematic change and the adoption of philanthropic practices that seek to redistribute philanthropic power to previously marginalized communities.
