I had a hallway chat with a “frontier” AI guy at a con a few years ago that still gives me nightmares. “We need to get some network people onboarded, the models say they’re hacking stuff, but we can’t prove if they’re actually doing it or not” Uh, how is the test env instrumented? “The what?”

That's concentrated evil. One drop of that could turn you all into hermit crabs.

I talked to an Oakland cop about this at my barber shop a few months ago: “you defunded the police, we had to take resources from somewhere.” We didn’t though, and that guy is probably clocking 30-40hr a week of OT organizing paperclips.

Literally gold paint on the tire sidewall to make the aero hubcaps look even bigger. Wonder if they’ll spend the money to maintain it or they’ll just look even shittier in 2 months.

These guys are also completely MBA pilled, so a doomsday bunker built must eventually be a doomsday bunker utilized. Pushing the button to recognize ROI.

For users of Gmail, sure — but if you were still self hosting, or were a service operator yourself, gmail sourced spam made things worse since you couldn’t just nuke el goog’s smtp.

In California, state employees chip in to “water clubs” to have water in the offices they’re returning to, accepting coffee at a vendors office is right out.

If I were running a corporate data harvesting operation disguised as a social network where all the worst people were encouraged to upload their shared contacts for my social graph ad-tech — I’d also test where the “slop” line was.

And how much they smell. Being at a gas station after a year of EV ownership is like being in a smokers car a few years after quitting.

I think one reason data center outrage is so pronounced is people spent decades recycling and composting and otherwise scrimping to offset energy use and protect clean water, and the second we hit an inflection point for cheap electricity the banking industry said we’re taking all of it, fuck you

Still trying to understand how non-voting shares with a binding arbitration clause for a company eternally controlled by one man who cannot be fired is any more of a financial instrument than an NFT.

The cynic in me assumes El Goog is already using “replay” data from gdocs in their training, and if not, tools like this are just meant to create more training data. The whole detection thing is just marketing and bait.

I did this with (my own) Large National Bank account last week - but over the phone. The robot prompted me to “add a cellphone number” to the account with with only a card number, pin and zip code (all from the mailer with the new card) — which it then texted a verification code to for full access.

I think that’s a lot of it. With no/limited track record, we just have his word and the word of billionaire white guys only goes so far? His attack ads against Becerra I saw when visiting the olds up in Jefferson were were also quite nasty and a bit playing to the dog whistle racists I thought.

They’ll talk a few corporate shitbox builders who also run the HOA’s into doing this for a few new developments in AZ or FL but the utility will have a 2 year wait on transformers and half the homes will never get built.

The only things I don’t like about the I5 are the things that Tesla spoiled me on (OTA updates that actually improve the car - not just maps, mobile service, no “dealer” bullshit, charging network (but not charging speed)) — in every other area the I5 is a far superior car.

The former I think. Tesla hit the initial credit’s limit years ago, then the “US only unless you’re leasing” credit limited a lot of vehicles before it got killed.

Mine gave some warnings on the freeway and went into “turtle mode” ~10 miles later. Luckily we were in the town we were staying in that night, so, able to get to the hotel and park. Felt like it let the 12V drain, which is what ultimately locked it down. Pain in the ass, but they made it right.

It’s possible the I5 Waymo fleet will provide better data on ICCU than forum anecdata, but it’s a ways out. Idk, HMUSA towed to the closest dealer, covered a rental, and trucked the repaired car back home when my ICCU popped 300mi into a trip on a Friday night and I didn’t have to leave my hotel.

Having access to a darkroom with a RA4 mini lab and a laminator was quite lucrative for a teenager in the early 90s when some state IDs looked that way. Allegedly.

Not just sick, but resource contention too. IIRC, a lot of the “pigs are bad” rules in antiquity came as much from “they compete for our food and don’t nomad well” as trichinosis.

Technically there are speed limits, but local norms and conditions may ignore them or be super punitive, it depends. Major interstates top out around 75mph posted. Licensing is state by state and varies. If anything, it’s mostly increased renewal frequency/testing over 70/75.

Idk, my 80 something relative drives the length of California and back every other weekend to visit his older sister. He wants something with better efficiency than his giant pickup truck, but also insists on doing the trip without stopping for gas or charging. Older Americans are fuckin weird.
