I have suddenly started paying more attention to the names of houses of worship that I pass.

Ok so the nickname for where I grew up is Chemical Valley. No nostalgia here.

I was just telling John that his bluesky presence is a bit of a Dr. Jekyll, Mr. Hyde situation, except it’s Beleaguered Eagles Fan alternating with silence.

The traumatized face of a dog who was forced to go outside to pee.
A brown hound in a brown hoodie curls up on a couch surrounded by throw pillows. She has big, sad, hollow eyes.

A little-known fact is that prehistoric roosters had prehensile tail feathers that they could move independently of each other. Sadly the spines in the tail feathers of today’s roosters are vestigial remnants of that time.

I have so many awesome pollinators in my yard right now. 1. Honeybee 2. Syrphid fly (looks like a bee or wasp, isn’t). 3. Metallic sweat bee 4. Bumblebee
A honey bee on calico aster. A syrphid fly, looking very much like a bee but not a bee, nectaring on calico aster, a plant with small white daisy-like flowers. A metallic sweat bee on a calico aster. The bee is a shiny green and orange color. A bumble bee hangs from a calico aster on a tall stem.

A picture of the second record book in the Gremlins series, where Gizmo is in the attic looking afraid where a pair of Gremlins hands loom ominously in from the edges.

Look I was a fearful child.
A picture of the Gremlins record book set of five, with small records and books that correspond, and showing Gizmo on some covers and Gremlins on the others.

I work from home and my office has a skylight right under a big white oak tree. Once I was talking in a meeting and THWACK! everyone on the meeting asked what happened.

I strongly recommend against getting the local sandwich called a Juicy Lucy at any location. Don't look it up online, but in this context it is a hamburger with the cheese on the inside of the patty. Sounds good. Isn't.
