You can't expect us not to do very predictable harm when there is soooo much unproven and frankly fantastical benefit on the table.

You cannot convince me that AI and gambling don’t need all their executives thrown in prison and insane regulations.
1313
H.E. Cas Piancey @cascoinfoundation.org · 5h
In fact, they’re purposely trying to ensure they don’t have to pay criminally or civilly for the laws they break and sins they commit. I’m not on the fence anymore. Feel free to add me to whatever “anti-AI” list you have.

These people don’t have your best interests in mind and they do not care if their technology costs you everything.

The fact any AI exec is pushing the tech further when deep fakes look and sound completely real should tell you everything you need to know about them.

Weirdness is about like… guns and nature though. Not necessarily the weird shit PA and CA get up to.

The only other states with major, important second cities are Florida and Texas, and they suck ass.
020
H.E. Cas Piancey @cascoinfoundation.org · 6h
I think PA is the state most like CA. One major metro area with fantastic food, some people hate it and some people love it, a second city that is high tech and beautiful, but has very weird people. In the middle are bizarre conservatives and other people who drink raw milk and prefer homesteading

When VC assholes say “you can just do things” they mean rip people off and ruin their lives with no consequences. In reality, you can just do things means you can be happy working, taking care of your family and friends.

I worked at a raw food kitchen. The only excuse I can give for raw milk is that it tastes better. It does! But it’s also very dangerous! So are we really gonna argue about sour cream v yogurt?

H.E. Cas Piancey @cascoinfoundation.org · 7h
“Yogurt is better for you” Yeah, and sour cream tastes better, what are we doing here?

Maybe this happened two years ago, but our firm has no reason to bring any attention to this even though it hurt our reputation and made us look like amateurs. Trust me, bro.

I’m sorry but this is so fucking funny. Ari Paul claims Coinbase got hacked, not his fund, but he won’t share proof, because…? I’m all about Coinbase hate but this is just pushing your own failures onto a company larger than yours.
Tmnxeq: "Coinbase was hacked"

*bloomberg article*

Crypto Investment Firm BlockTower
Capital Suffers Losses in Hack
• The firm's main hedge fund saw some of its assets drained
• The hacker has not been caught, nor have funds been recovered

Ari Paul: We never spoke to journalists in real-time. When that came out, we weren't sure whether we or Coinbase got hacked, as investigation hadn't happened yet. If you read the article or ping the reporter, you'll note they just assumed we got hacked. No reason to think that other than Coinbase saying it. If/when I show the investigation results to a reporter, they'll publish

The Marshall Plan gives America a ton of points, the Road and Belt plan gives China a bunch of points, but by never being a top dog and also never having anyone — even your neighbors during large scale, horrifying wars — invade/colonize you is utterly astounding. I stan for Thai diplomacy.

H.E. Cas Piancey @cascoinfoundation.org · 9h
I think Thailand is probably the most skilled country in regard to diplomacy in the entire world, at least over the past 300+ years.

Never getting colonized by being like “hey, want some food and drinks?” is GOATed.

Thailand is fascinating because they’ve basically used “be chill as fuck” as a diplomatic strategy and it has worked for centuries.

What a wild concept that you can get paid hundreds of millions of dollars to play a game, suck at the game all year, and then have a handful of good games and people are like “100% worth it”

What I love about this particular propaganda campaign is that it harmed no one and got a bunch of Americans to visit Thailand. Positive propaganda is kinda cool.
