This is a bit more nuanced than just "plastic bad" tho. PET plastic for instance is a waste product of natural gas production that we would need to deal with even if we didn't turn it into something useful. Moving to renewable energy is obviously better than gas, but don't blame the PET.

A WHOLE LOT of trans people are citing to the last decade of UK politics as a reason they think anti-trans Dems winning is worse FOR THEM than anti-trans Repubs. And a whole lot of US liberals aren't engaging with that example at all while pontificating about why trans people are wrong and stupid.
