I wrote an article aimed at newbie kids' book authors about hiring illustrators/book production, and took a photo of all the books I have done for clients this year. Seeing them all piled up this morning made me feel good. Needed that. Been feeling kinda lost lately. These are my books. I made them.

On my walk this morning, I saw a crow just standing in the middle of the street with a cigarette butt hanging out of its beak. I yelled at it "Hey! Spit that out, it's bad for you!" AND IT DID. I cannot make this stuff up.

A digital drawing of the crow with a cigarette dangling out of its mouth on a yellow background. He looks surprised. And he’s got rather a lot of color in the highlights of his feathers.

All my prints are on sale this week, from today 'til next Wednesday, because my birthday is on Saturday and I feel like it! sharptoothsnail.com/discount/its...

A digital painting of a giant orange octopus harrasing a pirate ship with an enormous handmade sockpuppet. This is one of my favorite works in recent years

A colorful painting of a Northern Saw Whet Owl on a red-orange background. This is the 2025 Superb Owl print

A poster of the Carina Nebula surrounded by the James Webb Space Telescope's distinctive Hexagon shape, with a quote from Antoine De Saint-Exupéry "If you want to build a ship, don't drum up the men to gather wood, divide the work, and give orders. Instead, teach them to yearn for the vast and endless sea." There's a small illustration of the JWST in the left corner, with a speech bubble that says "OMG you guys..."

I don’t know why I torture myself by doing something with scales while I’m still learning (or in this case re-learning) my tools, but here we are…

A pvc relief block in progress of a sea creature, mermaid looking unicorn thing. A speedball lino cutting tool is sitting on top.

Easy Carve + Woodzilla press = major potential for overdoing the print. I am loving getting back into relief printing, though!

I was just looking at a photo of a camel and it struck me that sometimes an animal looks exactly as strange as its skeleton suggests. This has implications for paleo art.
