I'm not here very often, but I was inspired by the latest photos of Earth setting over the Moon from the Artemis II mission. I drew this cartoon for some perspective on humanity.
Art description: 2-panel comic with an artist drawing of an "Earthset" over the Moon, based on a NASA photo taken by the crew of Artemis II on April 6, 2026 during their lunar flyby mission. The second panel contains a simple line drawing of a girl with a bun showing the photo on her phone to an elephant. Titled "Earthset over the Moon," 2026, by Connie Sun, cartoonconnie.

Are we the ones in control? Sometimes, I’m not so sure 😅
2-panel comic illustration of algorithms in 2010 compared to today (2024), depicted as a cute baby reptile that grows into a fire-breathing Godzilla that destroys big cities. Panel 1 illustration of a cartoon girl with a bun cooing at an adorable, newly-hatched, innocent-looking, baby lizard. The year is 2010. She crouches to pet it and exclaims, "A baby algorithm! OMG so cute!" Drawing by Connie Sun, 20246-panel comic about the new normal of A.I. and technology in modern life. A cartoon girl with a bun starts out in a state of information and sensory overload and proceeds to list the ways she stays in control of her time and attention. I hope you enjoy this elephant comic that brought me some comfort to draw #art #comics
Page 1 of a 2-page comic strip about resilience fatigue and coping with feelings of overwhelm. Color panels illustrate a cartoon girl with a bun talking to an elephant and an analogy of trying to manage an unrelenting flood of stressors and challenges. She tells the elephant that she's trying her best. I cartooned about putting some guardrails on my social media use 😅 #art #comics
Art description: Humorous 6-panel comic strip about a cartoon girl with a bun, vowing to not use social media for getting news, for companionship, or as a measure of self-worth. Each panel contains an illustration of why it's a bad idea to over-rely on social media for certain use cases. The catch is that social media is ubiquitous and alternatives are few. The character in the comic strip opts to check out instead, "at least until humanity comes to its senses." Titled "A Social Media Vow," original artwork by Connie Sun, cartoonconnie, 2025.

This is how I learned to climb, to swim, and how I taught myself how to draw comics strips as an adult - one skill at a time. A new 2-page comic about my relationship to climbing and making comics, free to read on my Substack
