Fostering this dude is a joy. You should adopt him (Odin). We’re guessing he’s 8ish. Mellow and easy in his old age, gentle as can be, not vocal, well-trained. Bonus: if you’re near #annarbor or part of the #a2council community, we’re happy to be your dog sitters! www.facebook.com/DobermanUnde...

It can’t be true that “the mayor instructed his team” The mayor doesn’t *have* a team in a weak mayor structure. The city administrator instructs the team per council resolution. And I haven’t seen the resolution that says “the city administrator shall put more shovels in the ground …”

I mean I’m not journalist but I’m pretty sure this headline is doing some serious tap dancing. You mean “ice shot and killed a person in Maine” right?

Thanks for sharing. I think it’s odd NextDoor took down the post, but can you help me understand what’s disgusting? I’m sure I’m being obtuse, but I see a woman speaking, then finish speaking and return to her seat, and the mayor calling on the next speaker. What am I missing?

Yeah, this is a good one. I knocked on some doors with Hieftje and he would pull it out if someone got cranky about property taxes, “75% of your problem isn’t with me”

As if the absolutely delightful architecture isn’t enough of a reward, this stuff saves money in the long run. The new Miller bike infra is fantastic … let’s hope #a2council is able to keep the momentum up.

During the Obama admin #a2council and the community had this convo about Argo dam. A grant to cover the project, clear science on enviro benefit, *and* elimination of recurring maintenance cost (hundreds of thou since). Rowers won the day. thesuntimesnews.com/aging-dams-b...

My teenage daughter and I were talking about the controversy around the new #a2council land use plan (really). She says (about upzoning), “I don’t get the friction. Sounds like a ‘sharing is caring’ situation.” Yup.

This is a great read with data and nuance. Although you had me at “no need for an employment-only district”. Does an “employment-only district” really sound good to anyone? Ick. Thank you both for the time and effort to educate.

my wife mashes up idioms. eg, 'she's not my people' + 'we're not cut from the same cloth' = 'she's not my cloth'. is that a thing other people do? or just my wonderfully quirky wife?
