NEW FROM ME @unwinnable.com: I have infected the good ship unwinnable with my Children of Lightning nonsense and they are now the second games publication I have snuck insurrectionist anarchist quotes into (the first was @bpmonthly.bsky.social) unwinnable.com/2026/07/15/f...

Final Fantasy XIII's Anarchist Dream - Unwinnable

While the party doesn’t find a cure or stymie for their divine curse, they do find and reaffirm the need for solidarity.

If this one quote humors or angers you, I'm sorry, but this is required reading.

Streaming the game made that gap impossible to ignore. Every time something big happened - and there are a lot of big things - the conversation moved in the same direction. Not toward what the scene did or how it was constructed, but toward what it meant. References came in quickly. Every scene in Xenoblade Chronicles 2 eventually becomes about Gnosticism if you leave fans alone with it long enough. This cannot be emphasized enough. Somewhere around the fifth mention of Gnosticism, I began to suspect that "Gnosticism" simply meant "a scene that sucks on its own."

It's been a year since the release of Xenoblade X Definitive Edition and I actually have something I get to share about it. Specifically, the story of my experience with Xenoblade X over ten years and three full playthroughs. A formative decade of my life spent on the planet Mira.

Today is the #GNOSIA finale. As the anime has neared its end, many fans have begun to sour on it. So instead of talking specifically about the anime, I decided to write about what the story of GNOSIA means to me right now. My current thoughts on GNOSIA: carskye.substack.com/p/gnosia-dua...

I enjoyed #Psychopomp and knew I wanted to write something about Venus and Mercury, but I wasn't entirely sure what. After checking online, I realized I had more to say about you. Did you even play the game or was it all in your head? My thoughts on Psychopomp: carskye.substack.com/p/you-think-...

We have a cultural problem in the USA that video games and their communities contribute to. Prosecute and abolish ICE. Video link below.

A lot of melodrama over the importance of these platforms to the quality of our lives. It's pretty simple: Do not give Discord your ID. If you cannot live without Discord, that is a signal that something in your life is going unmet elsewhere. Make Discord need you more than you need them.

The GNOSIA anime elevates the original story while managing to be an incredible standalone experience. So here is my recommendation on how and why everyone should watch it. My thoughts on the first half of GNOSIA: carskye.substack.com/p/why-you-sh...

Ten years ago, my story began in #XenobladeX. With the Definitive Edition from earlier this year, I can say with certainty it was my favorite in the series with my favorite Xenoblade story. My thoughts on a decade of Xenoblade X: carskye.substack.com/p/i-was-born...

The way the new #GNOSIA ending reuses the poses of each character to present the duality hidden within them is such a fun design choice. Some personal favorites include Chipie taking on the dirty jobs, Sha-Ming's exhaustion, and of course Yuri being a terrifying mastermind. (read alt text)

Yuri reaches out towards Setsu. Fear of losing others drives them onward.

Yuri reaches out towards *you*. The nightmare is approaching and can't be stopped.

GNOSIA Episode 1: We need to find the werewolf in human form before they kill us all. GNOSIA Episode 7: A baby beluga whale helps a grey alien navigate his love life. (also there are werewolves) It's time to watch one of the greats before it was cool.

Sad alien gets advice from beluga whale.

Beluga whale cheers on alien as he prepares for combat. (videogames)
