Lonesome sofa: cream dream

A worn white leatherette sofa sits abandoned on a patch of dry grass, a rough plywood sign propped against it, reading 'FREE' in pistachio spray, inviting passersby to take it.

Lonesome sofa: couch potato

A lumpy brown bean bag sofa rests on a sunny strip of weedy roadside grass. It resembles a potato and has a "free" sign taped to it with mailing tape. A brown paper grocery bag and two giant 3 ring binders complete the still life.

Lonesome sofa: Sunbathing

A beige vintage-style couch with rolled arms and curved wooden legs sits confidently on a sunny sidewalk corner, sunbathing in the afternoon light. Adorned with a collection of textured throw pillows and subtle brass nailhead trim, she exudes a warm, welcoming charm— waiting to hear your stories or offer comfort to a passerby.

Lonesome sofa: angry amber

A worn orange couch is abandoned on a grassy curb between a tree and a utility pole. It rests in a sad, slumped posture with cushions awkwardly piled and arms frayed.

Lonesome sofa: Dignity

A worn faux leather sofa sits abandoned on the edge of a sidewalk, her mid-century modern wooden legs giving it a touch of dignity despite her rough condition. A tufted backrest, once firm and inviting, now slouches, a little lumpy, resigned to time. Yet, the couch still sits proudly, dignified by the early evening glow, as if hoping someone will see its potential and give it a second chance.

Lonesome sofa: besties

A brown fabric couch with three cushions is placed on a sidewalk, set against a background of a brick retaining wall, trimmed hedges, and a tree. The cushions are askew and wedged together as if they're best friends squeezing in for a picture. In the distance is a residential street lined with cars and a small white dog looking away.

Lonesome sofa: be safe out there tonight, friends

A worn, vintage loveseat sits abandoned on the side of a sunlit sidewalk under the shade of a leafy tree. The upholstery, in a faded gold, shows signs of age with stains and tears from. The 3 wooden chair legs are intricately carved, though slightly weathered, suggesting a once-elegant design. The 4th is missing, left behind, like a shoe lost in a raucous night.

Lonesome sofa: grateful to have you.

Two worn leatherette recliners rest side by side almost in mid conversation like two old friends. One is beige with puffy cushions, the other a dark brown bearing a graffitier's that like a scar. The background is dry golden hills of California and a reservoir tank rising into a pale sky

Lonesome sofa: big sur

An abandoned couch roadside. The upholstery is a mix of textiles. The base is a tab microfiber, the sitting cushions a lighter tone. The back and arm cushions are a splendid woven pattern of black bears, next a stripe of brown fish, then black elk stripe followed by softly floating leaves. This couch smokes weed, has crystals, and definitely does some witchy stuff with the gals on weekends.

Lonesome sofa: a portrait in khaki

Lonesome Sofa: Red Red wine

A bright red microfiber love seat, optimistically positioned to attract a new owner, sits askew along a side walk basking in the evening glow of street lights. Behind are other discarded items including a leather club chair facing away and a Rubbermaid lid. Trash cans line the background pushed up against the townhomes I presume this beauty once belonged to.

Lonesome Sofa: farewell, Summer.

An upholstered blue floral armchair rests cockeyed against a metal barrier on a hill, angled towards a blushing sunset. It's off kilter due to a missing furniture foot. There's lush green overgrown weeds and vines including some pink flowing sweet pea.

Lonesome Sofa: chaos is a (2-rung) ladder

Lonesome Sofa: interstate love song.

A cushion-less leatherette couch rests in the background. It's angled, graffiti-tagged, disregarded, on an overgrown highway ramp. Construction barriers and cones litter the foreground along with an electrical box that's painted with a portrait of Scott Weiland

Lonesome Sofa: Rough night. I've lost my cushions, but I have this blanket.

An abandoned couch rests tipped upside-down on a strip of dead grass on the curb. The upholstery is a taupe linen, and there's dark wood detail on the arm rests and feet. The back of the couch traps a white and gray stripped blanket against the ground. There are no cushions.
