There are a few things I don’t think I will ever get used to while teaching in the US: - hugging the kids, and some parents too - having parents ask if they can buy anything for my classroom, or if I need anything - parents actually byuing said things Anyway, today was drop off your school supplies

I had to write a letter of recommendation for one of my students who’s leaving my class. It was both great to explain what a wonderful student she is and also terrible to feel what I was losing. they don’t tell you abt the heartbreak of kids leaving/growing from your class when you become a teacher

Kiddo is taking her vocal lesson at home today because of too many kids not enough room in her usual studio. They’ve been singing for 30 min and I feel like I’m living in a musical. I love that, I also love hearing the progress!

So, the AVS (my nhl team) is losing pretty badly in the playoffs. Which makes me both angry and sad. But that was before my kid spoke: “mom, honestly, they just wanna go to the cottage” 😂 just like that I felt much lighter!

One of my students got a D in my class today. On something she used to get F all the time. So when I put her grade on her paper, I sill added a “congrats” because she worked for that grade, and while it’s not great, it’s still an improvement. And she deserves to know I saw the improvement

I don’t know if many people know it but I am allergic to gum. This is not new, I have been allergic for over 10 years now. I carry an epipen because the last time I ate a chewing gum I ended up in the ER. In France, it was manageable. In the US? There’s gum in literally EVERYTHING.
